Sitting on Leon's lap for what seemed a good hour, he didn't seem to want to let you go. You were sure you had made his legs numb by now, even though when you would ask he kept saying they were fine. You couldn't tell if he was blaming himself for something or just wanting to hold you, but over the hour you had asked what happened in your memory from Racoon City. He also told you all about how the two of you had met.
"So.. I saved your butt first?" You asked amused.
Leon nods, a small smile on his face as he remembers you grabbing the gun from an undead cop's hip holster, kicking the back of his knee and shooting him in the head when he was down. It was that moment, the very first time he saw you, he knew he wanted to get to know you more. Even if his girlfriend had literally just broken up with him that night before, she was a distant memory in that moment, not that she was very nice to him anyway.
The most vivid memory was when the gun had gone off 2 times, and when he looked up to see who had saved him, you stood there. Looking down at the now very much dead cop, his gun in your hand, hair falling in front of your eye, sticking to your clammy face. Clothes grimy and covered in viscera, a blue tank top under a black and white, woolen tartan shirt, one shoulder slid halfway down your arm. You laughed at him because of the way he was looking at you, his cheeks were very clearly red.
You smile seeing Leon remember this memory, at least there was one thing that could make him smile thinking back to the worst moment of his life. And that thought was you. Coming back to reality, Leon turned his head to face you, your noses almost touch with him keeping you on his lap. You see his eyes flick down to your lips then doing his usual and leans up to press a kiss to your forehead, your hand coming up quickly to place on his lips. Leon looks into your eyes a little confused.
"Sorry, do you... Feel uncomfortable when I kiss you? I probably should have asked before I started doing that. I just-" He was silenced as your lips press to his. Leon's eyes widen at the feeling of your lips on his, he had missed it so much. Closing his eyes he leans into the kiss, you hear him sniff and open your eyes, pulling away.
You see tears running from the corners of his eyes and you feel yourself tense up.
"Leon? Are you okay?" You asked gently, wiping a tear away as it started to slide down his cheek.
"I'm fine, great actually!" He said with a sob filled laugh, pulling his hands up to wipe his eyes. "Sorry, I've just missed that. I wasn't too sure if I was every going to get you back."
"Get me back? But I'm alive?" You said trying to understand what he meant.
"No... No, I mean our love, I wasn't sure if you would remember me in that way." He explained as best he could.
"Oh, Leon." Your face softens. "You have cared for me and shown me your love ever since I woke up. I don't remember our love or our relationship, but what you have shown me, with your actions and kindness. There is no way I couldn't NOT fall in love with you again. I feel like the luckiest person in the world." You smile brightly and press one more peck to his lips for good measure before snuggling into his chest once again.
You feel your cheeks go a bright red as you hear his heartrate was faster than before, his arms wrapping around you tighter.
"Thank you, (Y/N)." He whispers into the top of your head before resting his cheek there.
-----*2 Months Later*-----
Over the weeks, you and Leon only grew closer, it would never be as close as you were before your head injury, however, it was very close. You were still you, even if you didn't remember your past, and you got to know Leon once again. His likes, his dislikes, certain habits he had. And every time he would eat, you would wait for him to choke but he never did. The amount of food that man would shove in his mouth was inhuman, a few times you would think of what else that mouth could do, but you weren't ready for that just yet.
Once you were able to walk around normally again he started to help you with training, first showing you how each gun you used worked, how to dismantle and clean them, and so on. Though every time he would go to teach you it was still second nature to you, doing everything perfectly without even having to think about it.
Leon didn't really know how to feel about it. Your memory was gone, but with the amount of physical and mental training the both of you went through had seemed to stick. It was basically engraved into your subconscious and not even a brain injury like yours could erase it. A part of him hoped you didn't remember so you had an excuse to never go back to this life, but another part of him hoped you did remember. The blackmailing the government held over your head was far riskier than his own blackmail, though right now he wasn't going to tell you this. Allowing you to think you do this because you felt you needed to protect people. That was part of the reason you both continued, but only a small part.
Recently he had started doing combat with you, not pushing you too hard as you were still not fully healed, but enough to get your reflexes and aiming up to where it was. You could still put him on his back even when he would try his almost best. You would swear he was going easy on you though, that and you had the excuse you were shorter than him. So you could get under his legs and trip him up easier.
Right now, you were currently getting dressed after a shower. It was early in the morning and Leon was eating his breakfast having already showered and gotten dressed for work. You were finally going on a mission with him. He was worried about you going on a mission, not sure how you would fair. Yet he felt better that Hunnigan had made sure you were both together for your first mission back. You stood there in front of the mirror, your lower half dressed in hiking sneakers and dark cargo pants. You wore a sports bra, your dark green t-shirt in your hands as you look at the scars on your left side in your reflection. It was now healed, the skin was still tender, but it was fine. Tracing your fingers over the scars you then pull on your top and plat your hair before leaving the bathroom.
"I made you breakfast." Leon says as soon as he heard the bathroom door opening. Making your way over to the island bench you saw a piece of toast with your favourite spread on it and two boiled and peeled eggs beside it.
"Thanks." You say starting to eat. Leon leaned his elbows on the bench, hands clasped together. Reading your expression, well trying to. He was finding it difficult at the moment.
"You okay?" He asks after you to swallow your mouthful.
Nodding you look up to him and force a smile. "Yeah, I'm a bit nervous and excited at the same time." You answer. "I don't know how I'm gonna go, but if I can remember everything when you were going through training with me, I'm sure I'll be fine." You assure him, but mainly you were assuring yourself.
Leon gives a nod and stands up grabbing your belt and other such equipment you needed to still strap to your legs and shoulders. Once you finish your breakfast you slip on your shoulder holsters and connect the holster to the back of your belt.
Leon walks around the island bench from the kitchen side to you and wraps his arms around you from behind. "Please be careful and stay alert at all times. Okay?" He asks.
You turn around in his arms and wrap yours around his waist. "And I'll say the same to you, don't worry about me. I'm sure I'll be fine. I haven't had any of those memory episodes in a week now." You assure him.
Leon nods and leans down to press a kiss to your lips before pulling away and walking to the door, grabbing two backpacks that were there and your own leather jacket. Walking over to him you put on your jacked and reach for your badge, shoving it in your back pocket. He opens the door for you and you put on your backpack as you make your way outside into the freezing morning air, the sun slightly making it easier to see everything.
Walking over to Leon's Ducati you wait for him to hop on first then slide on after him, wrapping your arms around his torso as he puts his own backpack on his front.
"Ready?" He asks looking back at you.
You nod and lean into his back. "Ready."
Leon turns the key to his bike and you take off down the driveway. The sun made the sky a beautiful orange yellow as it was rising, your attention on it as Leon drives the both of you through the traffic and city to the airport. Lucky you, your first mission was to assist the German army. An outbreak of a strain of the T-Virus had been reported there. Europe's BSAA had been doing it's best, but it was needing help from the best in the business. In this case, Leon and yourself were two of the best in the world. Not to have bragging rights or anything, you both didn't want it. You would both much rather not be the best and get less jobs, that way you could stay at home together. You were well off enough with money, so it's not like you NEEDED the jobs.
Thanks to your job being so high in the government you didn't have to go into the normal airport, Leon drives through some gates leading to one of the hangers. Pulling into hanger 6, he parks the bike and lets you hop off first before swinging his own leg over, flicking the stand and leaving it there. Someone will take it away and put it in storage for safe keeping when you are on the Jet.
Your eyes look up to the large Jet, mouth slightly hanging open at how fancy it looked.
"Wow..." You say under you breath, catching Leon's attention. He moves to stand beside you, hands in his jacket pockets as he looks from you to the Jet.
"It's much more comfortable than public airlines." He said giving you a light tap on your arm with his fist, walking over to the stairs leading up into the body.
You smile and jog to catch up to Leon, climbing the stairs behind him excited to get inside. Once inside there were 2 other men waiting for you. Standing as you enter, one of them walk forwards to meet you. He was probably middle aged, wearing a grey suit, he wasn't slender or super fat, but somewhere in the middle. His hair a brown and greying, short but a full head of hair.
Reaching for your hand first you reach out and shake it.
"I thank you both so much for coming." The man says with a German accent. "We are here to fill you in on the details during the flight." He says stepping aside as the other man walks over to greet the both of you as well.
This man wore a navy suit, and was much older than the first man, probably in his 70's if you had to guess. His hair was white and combed over. Square glasses sat on his larger nose.
"Mr. Kennedy, Miss. (L/N), we were told you are the best to be helping Germany. President Graham said your names himself, so you must be the best."
You felt proud, you had a reputation! But at the same time you felt very nervous as you didn't know if you would now be able to keep up that reputation.
"Please, come join us, and once we are in the air we'll get started on your briefing." The first man steps aside further holding out his arm to 4 seats facing each other, a table between them.
Leon lets you sit next to the window, stepping in sideways you sit down, pulling on your seatbelt as Leon follows behind, also strapping himself in. The two men sat across from the both of you, facing the back of the plane as you and Leon face the front.
Once in the air you all remove your seatbelts and the older man pulls a briefcase up onto the table, clicking open the clips he opens it up. Pulling out a few yellow folders and placing them on the table, putting the case away under his chair once again.
"Currently we are dealing with an outbreak of the T-Virus, it has been spreading in several parts of a city called Erfurt. The European Branch of the BSAA has been doing it's best to keep the attacks at a minimum, however due to recent reports there have been sightings of BOWs starting to be thrown into the mix." The older man explains as he starts, taking out pictures of maps and other such photos of the infected. Leon takes a blurred picture of what could possibly be the BOW, but is was taken while the camera was moving, making it extremely hard to decipher what he was trying to look at.
The men keep talking, Leon listening as you take one of the pictures containing the T-Virus infected people. Leon looked to the picture you were looking at, flicking his eyes up to you quickly reading you expression, you were keeping your cool, not to show emotion to the other men. But he could tell you were uncomfortable with what you were looking at. You had been looking at fake zombies made by Hollywood movies, looking at pictures of those fake ones, you knew they were perfectly normal people under makeup. This though, this felt different to you, more real.
Under the table Leon rest his foot gently on yours, instantly you could feel the tension in your shoulders washing away. Placing the photo back on the pile, you speak up.
"So you have given us all this information, but what do you want us to do about it?" You ask rather professionally. Leon turning to you with a small nod only you noticed, it was his 'good job' nod.
"Getting straight to the point, I like you Miss. (L/N). What we would like from you is to find who is distributing the Virus and inform the BSAA So they can infiltrate."
"And the BOWs?" Leon asked.
"Those, we would like for you to find and destroy. We assume they are being released by the same people who are infecting the public. We have reason to believe they are located somewhere in this area." He says taking out a map and pointing to a red circled area on it. "This is where the sighting of BOWs have been said to be. Of course we are only going from word of mouth with the BOWs."
Leon sighs heavily and falls back into his seat, he hated jobs where there were vague ideas and not actual locations for him to search. It just made the job take longer.
