and the June 2017 tutorial will be... (Patreon)
Content
aloha Patrons!
after a heated neck-and-neck battle with the top 2 songs tied in the polls , Stairway to Heaven prevailed as the winner, all because Susanne chose it as her write-in song. every vote counts - thank you Patrons for voting!
Stairway was tied with Time in a Bottle - as Joshua points out in the comments, Tyler of Ten Thumbs has a new and comprehensive tutorial for Time in a Bottle . I encourage you to check out Tyler's tutorial and see if it appeases, and support him on Patreon if you enjoy his teaching.
(on a side note, check the comments on the voting thread if you want to get in on the Stairway to a Bottle mashup instigated by Joshua, Thorvald, and Vanessa!)
THIS MONTH'S EVENTS
i've already started digging into the intro for Stairway and... i'm gonna need a little more time on this one! so let's move the Live Lesson to next Thurs 6/15.
- i'll post the CHORD CHART for $3+ Patrons as soon as it's ready!
i'll hopefully have it by the end of the weekend.
- LIVE LESSON is next Thurs 6/15 at 4:30pm PDT
for those who are new, every month I teach the vote-winning song in a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons as practice for creating the tutorial. i post a private video link, and you can log in and chat during the Live Lesson. if you miss the Live Lesson, you can always watch the recording later. details coming in a separate post.
- BEGINNER LIVE JAM is Thurs 6/22 at 4pm PDT
in the Beginner Live Jam, i invite the $10+ Patrons to join me online to play through songs from my Beginner Songbook. this month, we'll work on the concept of swinging or shuffling, and i'll add a new song (possibly 2) to the Songbook.
- and INTERMEDIATE JAM-mers, let's try something different for June and July
for the next couple of months, instead of a Live Jam, i'd like to give my $20+ Patrons access to the practice sessions for the Aloha Uke Squad, my performance/community service uke group. we'll be practicing on Tuesdays from 8:15-8:45pm PDT starting 6/20. we'll be working on our repertoire including 2 Hawaiian songs that we're accompanying a hula group on for our Summer Uke-splosion performance at the end of July. i realize the meeting time might be late for many of you to join live, but i think the material and playing with the group will offer something new, even if you watch the recordings afterwards. sound ok?
please feel free to comment with questions, and thanks as always for supporting what i do.
peace, love, and ukulele!
xo cynthia.
