aloha Patrons!
i am very excited to make a tutorial for Landslide, which won the popular vote this month. thank you for voting, and for all of your feedback - it's great to hear that many of you would like me to present choices for the tutorial vote, based on the songs that i think will make the best tutorials. so that's what we'll do next month. your feedback makes our community stronger, and i really enjoyed hearing from you.
LIVE LESSON - beginner and intermediate - tomorrow Thurs 7/13 at 4:30pm PDT
in response to all your great feedback, i've decided that in each live lesson, i will teach a beginner version first, followed by an intermediate version. for Landslide, the beginner version will be strumming, and the intermediate will be fingerpicking. the final tutorial will probably be more like the intermediate version, because the fingerpicking will sound closer to the original song.
THIS MONTH'S EVENTS
- CHORD CHART posted tomorrow for $3+ Patrons
in time for the Live Lesson
- LIVE LESSON tomorrow Thurs 7/13 at 4:30pm PDT for $5+ Patrons
for those who are new, every month I teach the vote-winning song in a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons as practice for creating the tutorial. i post a private video link, and you can log in and chat during the Live Lesson. if you miss the Live Lesson, you can always watch the recording later. details coming in a separate post.
- BEGINNER LIVE JAM is Thurs 7/20 at 4pm PDT for the $10+ Patrons
in the Beginner Live Jam, i invite the $10+ Patrons to join me online to play through songs from my Beginner Songbook. if you're new, you can download the Beginner Songbook from the May 2017 Beginner Jam. details coming in a separate post.
ps: based on your feedback, i've decided that the Beginner Jam will always stay beginner. we strayed a bit last month, and we're going back. i want the Beginner Jam to always be a welcoming place for beginners.
- INTERMEDIATE JAM is replaced by Aloha Uke Squad practices this month
the Aloha Uke Squad, my local performance/community service uke group, is performing at the end of the month for our SF Uke Jam Summer Uke-splosion. we're practicing on Tuesdays from 8:30-9:00pm PDT and working on a repertoire of 3 Hawaiian songs that we're performing to accompany a hula group. i wanted to share the insight and experience of practicing for performance with my Intermediate Jammers. we'll return to jamming next month!
thanks as always for supporting what i do. look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow!
xo cynthia.
