Aloha Patrons!

Thanks for voting in our July song poll which was inspired by your "summer song" suggestions - our winner is American Pie by Don McLean.  This is an epic-ly long song that's rich with American music history and culture, and it hit #1 in several countries.  The song has a sing-along chorus that I remember learning in summer camp, so it definitely brings back summer memories for me too.

You can join me tomorrow to learn this song in our July 2018 Live Lesson.  American Pie has a lot of repeated verses and a complicated structure, but the chords are still pretty beginner friendly.  

For each of our monthly song vote winners, I teach a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons and post a Patron-only chord chart for $3+ Patrons.  I then create a Patron-supported Play-Along to share on Youtube.  All Patrons will get access to the recorded Lesson once the Play-Along and Chord Chart are published. 

Bonus song this month - Havana

Some folks made the suggestion of having more current songs, and more songs that are interesting instrumentally for those who don't sing.  If you haven't heard Havana, it's an extremely popular radio hit AND really fun to play on the ukulele.  So I am adding it as a bonus song for this month.  $3+ Patrons can find the Chord Chart here, and I'll teach it in the Live Lesson tomorrow after American Pie.
