Aloha Patrons!

A warm welcome to the many new Patrons who've just joined us. Please see the bottom of this post for tips on joining our private facebook group (best place to get support and ask questions) and other Patron communities.

Our December song poll winner is Something by George Harrison. Thanks to everyone who voted! (and for all The Greatest Showman fans... I'm working on an arrangement to share soon, maybe in the 5@5 tonight 😄) The video above is Paul McCartney's ukulele tribute to George Harrison, and he's playing an ukulele that George gave to him. So cool to see Sir Paul on the uke!

If you're on Instagram, join me tonight for my 5@5 Instagram Live show (follow me @cynthialinmusic and go to my Live Story on Wednesday at 5pm Pacific time). I'll play a preview of my arrangement of Something, our winning song.

All Patrons are invited to join our Live Lesson this month

I've just wrapped up my first Holiday Tour (more on that in a separate post!), and it was just so wonderfully heartwarming to jam and share music with friends, family, and a whole lot of Patrons on tour in NYC, the Bay Area, and Seattle! I wanted to have an end-of-year gathering for our amazing online community of Patrons as well - so I'm making this Thursday's Live Lesson available for all Patrons (normally for $5+ tier).

Please join us LIVE if you can! The Live Lesson is on Thursday 12/20 at 4:30pm Pacific time. Visit this Live Lesson post for the chord chart and private video link for the Live Lesson.

When you tune in Live, you get to chat with fellow Patrons and ask questions in real time. If you can't tune in live, the lesson will be recorded and you can watch later at your convenience.

About the Song of the Month

For each of our monthly song vote winners, I teach a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons and post a Patron-only chord chart for $3+ Patrons. I then create a Patron-supported Play-Along to share on YouTube. Here's a playlist of recent Patron-supported Play-Along videos. All Patrons will get access to the recorded Lesson once the Play-Along and Chord Chart are published. Click here to find all available Live Lessons.

Hope you can tune in tomorrow. If not, no worries, please enjoy the Lesson whenever you get a chance to watch!

xo cynthia.

Paul McCartney Something Live at Anfield, Liverpool 1st June 2008

Something" is a single released by The Beatles in 1969, and featured on the album Abbey Road. It was the first song written by George Harrison to appear on the A-side of a Beatles single. It was one of the first Beatles singles to contain tracks already available on a long playing (LP) album, with both "Something" and "Come Together" having appeared on Abbey Road. "Something" was the only Harrison composition to top the American charts while he was a Beatle. John Lennon and Paul McCartney—the two principal songwriting members of the band—both praised "Something" as among the best songs Harrison had written. As well as critical acclaim, the single achieved commercial success, topping the Billboard charts in the United States, and entering the top 10 in the United Kingdom. The song's success continued after the breakup of The Beatles, when it was covered by over 150 artists including Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Julio Iglesias, Smokey Robinson, Joe Cocker becoming the second-most covered Beatles song after "Yesterday".[1] Lyrics : Something in the way she moves, Attracts me like no other lover. Something in the way she woos me. I don't want to leave her now, You know I believe in how. Somewhere in her smile she knows, That I don't need no other lover. Something in her style that shows me. I don't want to leave her now, You know I believe in how. You're asking me will my love grow, I don't know, I don't know. Stick around, and it may show, But I don't know, I don't know. You know I love that women of mine. And I need her all of the time. Know am I telling to you. That women..that women that make me blue. Something in the way she knows, And all I have to do is think of her. Something in the things she shows me. I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how. Enjoy and comment :)
