Aloha Patrons!

Welcome to our monthly vote!  Please note that voting closes Tuesday, September 10th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

If you're new to Patreon, thanks for being here!  Please read thoroughly for instructions on how the whole voting process works. (Also, if you're new, join our secret Facebook group!  Email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your Facebook email address and we'll add you - and see Community Notes at the bottom of this post for more ways to connect.)

How the Song of the Month works
Here's the TL;DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:
1. All Patrons vote!  (in this post! See the song options below!)
2. I'll create an arrangement for the winning song and teach a Live Lesson (access for $5+ Patrons) and share a Chord Chart (early access for $3+ Patrons).
3. All Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson the following month.

THANK YOU PATRONS for directly supporting the creation of these higher production Play-Alongs!  Click these links to find all Play-Along posts and Live Lesson posts.

Song options - songs I already have prepared :)
Given my Australia tour travel this month, I'm presenting voting options of songs I've already prepared for various other classes that I haven't had a chance to teach on Patreon yet. (Creating new charts on the road is a bit tricky).  These are all songs that can be taught for all levels.

HOW TO VOTE
1. Click on the check box for as many of the song choices as you like below - yes, multiple votes are allowed. Please note - as soon as you tick the checkbox, the vote is counted. (You can look at the ticker on the right! Sometimes the ticking doesn't work on certain devices - in this case, try your laptop or desktop vs tablet or mobile.)

2. Comment with ONE SONG that you’d want for next month's tutorial. Remember that our Patrons span all across the world, so the songs that tend to win are worldwide classic hits. I will also keep your suggestions in mind for our other monthly lessons. Please keep it to one song suggestion per person.

3. Upvote other people's song choices by clicking the heart on their comment. Upvotes are an easy way to double your voting power! Your upvotes matter, so I encourage you to come back and look through your fellow Patrons' comments to upvote.

Thank you, and happy voting!

xo cynthia

Martina

Tom Waits Grapefruit Moon

Sandra Boeuf

I would love to see a tutorial for Ukulele Lady (check out Colleen McHugh version on Spotify) .

Stefan Dzwonnik

Seeing as you're going to aussie this month, might as well crack out a classic aussie song like Down under by Men at work, khe Sanh by Cold chisel, Great Southern Land by Icehouse, Working Class Man by Jimmy Barnes, You're the Voice by John Farnham, or Beds are burning by Midnight Oil. Cheers and enjoy.

Trish Dyball

What happened to Killing Me Softly ? It was very close last month.

Carol Miller

Blue Moon please in the style of Rod Stewart .. if possible???

Christina Ettorre

Yes, I agree... killing me softly. Also like to throw “Amie” by pure prairie league into the ring

Mike Aldworth

Wow, only 3 vote difference between harvest Moon and wild world. Has it ever been this close a race before?

Heidi

I agree Susan - Autumn is the perfect time of year for this song! I have been awaiting this one. Thank you Cynthia for bringing it around for a vote again:)

Krysia Bamford

How about a ukulele version of Classical Gas? Next time?

Laura

Avery’s Choice: Lake Shore Drive by Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah

Shelley Rubzow

Bohemian Rhapsody Part 3. I feel incomplete not learning the whole song :-)

molly ferrer

I was just playing Bohemian Rhapsody this morning, the whole song works up to part III and it is a bit of a bummer to not be able to rock out the end...

kris ronningen-fenrich

What a Wonderful World (as you did this with my Intermediate Uke Class) -- it would be great to have Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World together!

JustJ

You guys ever heard of Drivin on 9 by the Breeders. It sounds amazing on uke ! (Not mine since I'm a newb but check it out) and maybe someday we can vote for it.

Becky Poteet

How can I obtain a copy of the song you mentioned "Wagon Wheel"?

tony kendrick

I would love to play Long Train Running by the Doobie Brothers, it has a really funky rhythm.

Sheenah Freitas

House of the Rising Sun (The Animals version would be my choice.)

Cynthia Lin

i agree, i'll try to work it up for an Intermediate lesson, because i'm not sure it could win a vote... but i'd like to complete it too :)

Shelley Rubzow

For the record Cynthia, I still enjoy learning song of the month, no matter which one is voted in

Claire S

Harvest Moon -- my youngest son's favorite song when he was 2 yo. He is now 9 so I can even teach him =D

Robin Gonzalez

“To Love Somebody” by The Bee Gees

Regan Ertle

Dock of the Bay (Otis Redding)

Janice Lee

Still hoping for Rainbow Connection to make the list someday! Would also like to request I Will by The Beatles.

Sandra Smith

It feels like Fall in Michigan, Van Morrison’s album Moondance is a seasonal favorite. Would love to learn “Sweet Thing”, “Into the Mystic”, or “Moondance”

Jenny Selig

This medley has been played in a number of intermediate and beginner jams! Check out the Song Index to find them and the chord sheet.

Jenny Selig

I Will would be nice for a Lesson, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure you knew that it's been included in several beginner and intermediate jams -- so, not a full lesson, but you could take a look!

Chela Burger

Yes, Rainbow Connection. Also, Sing A Song recorded by the Carpenters

Janice Lee

Thank you, Jenny! I was hoping for a Cynthia Lin chord chart. I'm afraid I've become a bit of a chord chart snob. I find Cynthia's charts so easy to follow!

Donna Grant

Are you strong enough to be my man - Cheryl Crow. I'd also love to hear something by Phoebe Snow and by Bonnie Raitt. I keep trying!

kris ronningen-fenrich

Yes, there's the Intermediate class playing Wonderful World from March 2017 -- but I don't see a chord chart or strumming and picking pattern for this version which is great! Is that available? It's a more interesting version...

BM

Sunny by Bobby Hebb ;)

Maree Smith

Since Harvest Moon lost by one vote, please please please please Cynthia, can you do it as an Intermediate lesson?

Heidi

That is a great suggestion Maree and I like the way you think Susan!

Jenny Selig

Susan, unfortunately the upvotes are not counted in that way. They count towards the song being considered for the next month. But it would make a great int. lesson!

Erwin

For next month's song, maybe "This Masquerade" ?

Janice Lee

When someone requests a song in the comments, people can click on the heart to let Cynthia know how many people are interested in that song. More hearts mean the song might be added to the list for voting.

Janet Amos

Dog Days are Over - Florence and the Machine

Deborah Walker

Buckets of Rain by Bob Dylan in the style of Joan Osborne

Janice Collins

How do we suggestion songs? I would really love to learn "More than Words"!! Make you feel my love will be great too!
