Welcome to October, and a warm welcome to all the new Patrons! (And G'Day to all the new Aussie Patrons after tour!)  Thanks for joining us here, and thanks to all of you for directly supporting my work and for helping to create a powerful and positive online ukulele community!

If you are a new Patron, please introduce yourself in the comments below. Feel free to share how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have an uke club to play with, what songs you've been working on. And if you've been a Patron for a while and want to share, please go ahead. This is a good place for questions too - fellow Patrons, feel free to help me answer any newbie questions. 

A note for newbies - I know Patreon can be a bit hard to navigate. Please be patient and explore.  Some important resources:

• Check out our New Patron Guide/FAQ post, and please comment there if you have a question that the FAQ doesn't answer
• Be sure to join our secret Patrons-Only Facebook group  (email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your Facebook email address - more info in the Community Notes at the bottom of this post.)  Our community on Facebook is active and supportive, and it's the best place to post any question you have about Patreon or ukulele.

September 2019 RECAP

A New Music Video!

In September, I posted a new music video for "Blackbird," a song I've taught in a series of lessons on YouTube. This video marks another collaboration with Bay Area director and cinematographer Robert Gomez Hernandez of Alumiere Media. You can check out the video here, and begin learning the song with Lesson One!

September Patron Lessons and Jams:

• In our September Live Lesson, I taught "Wild World" by Cat Stevens/Yusuf. That lesson is now available to all Patrons.  
• We focused on  "Señorita" & the chucking island strum at our September Beginner Jam ($10+ Patrons). 
• I shared a Bonus Lesson for "Harvest Moon" which came in 2nd in the monthly poll by only one vote.  Enjoy!
• Our September Intermediate Jam ($20+ Patrons) got bumped to October because of my travel schedule, and I'll be teaching a chord melody lesson on "A Thousand Years" tomorrow 10/3. Find the post info here.

• In Honolulu, I hosted a free Strum-Along at the Whole Foods Ward Village. Local Hawaii folks, please join the new 808/Hawaii Uke Squad for info on future events: https://www.facebook.com/groups/808ukesquad/
• I completed my Aussie Tour 2019!  Pics on my instagram, and more videos coming soon.  After performing in Brisbane and Melbourne, sadly I got sick and lost my voice, so my concert in Sydney had to be canceled.  I was still able to meet some Sydney Patrons, students, and friends at a casual meet-and-greet in the park, although I had to keep things a little quieter than usual!  Aussie uke friends are invited to join our Aussie Uke Squad for updates: https://www.facebook.com/groups/aussieukesquad/

OCTOBER 2019 PATRON EVENTS CALENDAR

See all Patron events on our Patron Google calendar (also accessible through our Patron App). Please note the 5:30 Pacific Time start for Live events.

• Thurs 10/10 @ 5:30PM Pacific Time - Beginner Live Jam ($10+ Patrons) - we'll warm up with a jam on songs from my Ukulele 101 Songbook, review last month's lesson, and I'll teach a Beginner arrangement of "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri.  We'll learn a little about 6/8 time and strumming in a different time signature.
• Sat 10/12 through Tues 10/15 - Vote for our Patron Song of the Month (coming in a separate post)!
• Thurs 10/24 @ 5:30PM Pacific Time Live Lesson for vote-winning song ($5+ Patrons) + Chord Chart posted ($3+ Patrons).
• Thurs 10/31 @ 5:30PM Pacific Time Intermediate Live Jam ($20+ Patrons).
