Aloha, Patrons!

(new Patrons, please see the Community Notes at the bottom of this post for tips on getting started, and please read thoroughly for instructions on how the whole voting process works.)

Welcome to our monthly vote! Please note that voting closes Thursday, January 9th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

How the Song of the Month works

Here's the TL/DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:

1. All Patrons vote! (in this post! Scroll down and see the song options below!)

2. I'll create an arrangement for the winning song and teach a Live Lesson (access for $5+ Patrons) and share a Chord Chart (early access for $3+ Patrons).

3. All Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson the following month.

THANK YOU PATRONS for directly supporting the creation of these higher production Play-Alongs! Click these links to find all Play-Along posts and Live Lesson posts.

About Cynthiaʻs pick

Although I have yet to watch "Frozen 2," I am quite entranced with a song from the movie called "All is Found."  Thereʻs an acoustic version by Kacey Musgraves which you can hear here.  The song is beautifully written and would make for a lovely fingerpicking arrangement on the ukulele.  Check it out and see what you think!  The remaining selections are songs that were popular in last monthʻs vote or runner-ups in polls last year.

Thank you for sharing stories about your song suggestions last month!  I learned about songs and versions that I wasnʻt aware of before, like Willie Nelsonʻs version of Pearl Jamʻs "Just Breathe," which is up for vote this month.  Please continue to share your stories and connections to the songs you suggest, and be sure to check out and upvote your fellow Patrons' comments! (See below for instructions)

HOW TO VOTE

1. Click on the check box for as many of the song choices as you like below - yes, multiple votes are allowed. Please note - as soon as you tick the checkbox, the vote is counted. (You can look at the ticker on the right! Sometimes the ticking doesn't work on certain devices - in this case, try your laptop or desktop vs tablet or mobile.)

2. Comment with ONE SONG that you’d want for next month's live lesson. Remember that our Patrons span all across the world, so the songs that tend to win are worldwide, classic hits. I will also keep your suggestions in mind for our other monthly lessons. Please keep it to one song suggestion per person.

3. Upvote other people's song choices by clicking the heart on their comment. Upvotes are an easy way to double your voting power! Your upvotes matter, so I encourage you to come back and look through your fellow Patrons' comments to upvote.

Thank you, and happy voting!

General request on any chord sheet moving forward: can each sheet include the first note one sings? You know, a little image of the frets with a dot showing which note to pluck to hear where to start singing? I often have a really hard time hearing where to start with my voice. I would love if that were included on all the chord sheets, please. Thank you for consideration. :)

A year ago we learned the first two parts of Bohemian Rhapsody but we never finished the song. It would be great to wrap that up. It’s such a letdown when I play it for friends and I have to leave them (and myself) hanging every time :-). Maybe on an intermediate jam one month soon?

We should just do the bob dylan/adele song. It has been on the list soooo many times and never won. Same with Kacey Musgraves. Mixing some new with the older would help mix it up, and helps with motivation and learning.
