Aloha, Patrons!

It's February, and itʻs a leap year, which means...one extra day to play ukulele! :)  This month, Iʻm doing a little reorganizing of the monthly calendar post to make this monthʻs events more prominent.

Thank you for being here, and thank you for directly supporting my work and for helping to create a powerful and positive online ukulele community.  I believe we can change the world, one uke at a time. :)

Fran Brockmyre

Hi, I am a new patron from Florida. I belong to the Tampa Bay Ukelele Society, the largest in the world. I've been playing for about 4 years and have tenor and baritone ukes and am hoping to get one of the Cynthia Lin signature concert ukes, strung in low G for my birthday. I am enjoying learning all the different strums and picking techniques.

Becca Blackmore

Hi! I'm Becca Blackmore. I've had a ukulele for a couple years, but started practicing in earnest this January (2020). I've recently been working on Faith by George Michael (the strum pattern is killing me!) and Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard by Paul Simon (finger-picking the whistling section has been super fun). Thanks for all the lessons!!

Valerie Hart

I had so much fun at the LA Uke Social!!! And the food was yummy too. Thanks for all you do Cynthia

Chloe

Hi! I'm Chloe from San Francisco. I attended Cynthia's Christmas ukulele workshop in Berkeley last year, and I recently decided to spend more time playing music. I've played uke on and off for a few years, and before that guitar and piano for 7 years. The song that resparked my interest in playing is Toss a Coin to Your Witcher from the Netflix series.

Adrienne Ybarra

Hello! I'm Adrienne from SoCal. I just joined last month and I'm excited to really get into the lessons this month. I just started play in November 2019. I'm practicing Killing Me Softly and Dream a Little Dream. Im currently playing a concert Uke, but want to get a tenor. I love uke so much that I practice every day.

Diana Stimmel

I’m Diana from State College PA. I’ve played viola for 30 years and started learning the Uke 3 weeks ago! I’ve learned Blackbird (just need to play it faster) and Moonshadow . I love fingerpicking it makes sense to me strumming is another beast but I’ll figure it out! I play a 2019 Kim Breedlove concert tenor solid maple Uke from Oregon. I’m loving the Uke and have learned so much from Cynthia Lin’s tutorials!

Binh Alley (Lily)

Hi. I am Binh (Lily). I figured I should introduce myself since Cynthia had my name on this post :). I am very honored. Thanks Cynthia. I am new, been playing uke for 2 months. I'm a loner: foreigner came to the US, then in a profession with all men...so music kept me going. I loved guitar and tried to play a few but not good at it 'til I saw uke in Fiji so I told my husband I wanted a uke. I chose my Fender montecito tenor ukulele because of its uniqueness along with low G. Then I found Cynthia on Youtube who uses low G and thanks to her I was able to play a few xmas songs. Then I was drawn to "How Far I'll Go" song. I joined patron because of that song and also got this prize from that song. I told my husband luckily it was randomly picked, I got no talent :).Thanks so much Cynthia. You are awesome and it is awesome what you are doing here. Also, I am from Maine and we have a 2 days snow storm starting tomorrow so...yeah. Thank you

Elaine Panke

I can't seem to find the link to vote on February's song. Can anyone tell me where the link is?

Sammy Suzuki

Hello my name is Sammy. I live in NY City and I recently started playing a concert ukulele. My wife had bought one 20 years ago on our honeymoon and she never had the time to play it so I finally decided to play it myself and I am loving it! I never thought of myself as musically inclined but with the help of Cynthia’s videos I have surprised myself. More recently my teenage kids have been joining in on the fun as well! The ukulele has already given me a lot of happiness in so many ways. Thank you Cynthia!

Ginger Earl

Although there are hundreds of songs to request, I'd like to say, don't forget about Jolene! I remember that it got a lot of votes last time. :)

Cynthia Lin

Welcome, Becca! Would love to see a video of you fingerpicking the whistling, post on the Facebook group or a YouTube link here if you get a chance to record!

Cara Dever

Hello! I just joined your Patreon after trying to teach myself ukulele starting in December. I received a new Kala ukulele from my husband for Christmas (all I wanted was a ukulele!) and I’ve so enjoyed learning new songs and chords. Right now I’m trying to master your Sound of Silence. I’ve only played piano and flute in my lifetime so strings are new to me. So hard yet so rewarding! I love to sing so that’s obviously a big reason for wanting to learn this instrument. Singing and playing is NOT easy!! Anyway thanks so much for your wonderful videos. Can’t wait to learn more!
