Aloha, Patrons!

I'd like to invite you to participate in a virtual flash mob for my original song, "Zombie Heart"!  Check out my band's music video linked above, or click here: https://youtu.be/8ZH18STSzzs 

I'm proud of this little song that I get to bring out every Halloween, and I'm grateful to all of you who have listened to the song and requested to learn it!  I taught "Zombie Heart" for this month's Live Lesson.  While it is only 4 chords, it is challenging to sing and play at the same time, so I've made it so that all levels can participate in this flash mob - you do not have to play the song in the video.  You do have to dress up though. :) 🧟‍♀️

I envision the final product as a collaboration video of ukulele-playing zombies, in a wide variety of settings.  I invite you to get creative.  Maybe you're in your kitchen making stew.  Or in your yard raking leaves.  Or walking down your city street.  Get your family involved.  Learn the zombie dance from the video (tutorial link below) if you like to move.

How to Join the "Zombie Heart" Virtual Flash Mob:

Guidelines for the video submission:

1. Record a video dressed as a zombie.  Video can be landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical), whatever works better for you.

- Do a web search for zombie makeup tutorials.  If you find some you like, feel free to share the links below.  It can be as simple as white powder on your face with dark sunken eyes, but feel free to show off makeup skills if you have them.  Clothing/costume can just be whatever character you want to be (or just be you, zombified).

- When recording your video, play the song "Zombie Heart" on another device so that it can be heard on your video (find it on all streaming platforms, or play the video).  For instance, you may need to play on a laptop/TV or separate speaker while you record with your phone.

- Have fun with it!  I'm leaving it quite open so you can be creative.  Weird, creepy, silly, are all fine.  You can hold a uke, or not.  You can lip-synch / sing along / or not.  Chord chart with lyrics are attached to this post.  You can zombie-walk, or dance.  You can learn the choreography from the video (check out the dance tutorial - I made this for the dancers in the video way back in 2014!!).  You can play the song fully (practice with the Live Lesson) - just keep in time with the original recording.  You can use an earphone if that helps you play along better.  

- You don't have to record the full song.  15-20 seconds would be fine (but after all the prep, you might as well sing/dance through the whole song).

3. If you don't have a google account, please make sure your video file is titled with your name as you'd like it listed in the credits, and use the free website wetransfer.com to send the video.  Add the file, email to cynthialin.team@gmail.com, and hit the Transfer button.
