{Patron-only post: please click through and heart this post so I know you've seen it, thank you!}

Aloha, Patrons!

Sending a warm welcome and breezy Hawai'i vibes to both long-time and new Patrons.  New Patrons, please see the resources later in this post for help getting started in our community.  We're so happy to have you here!

I'm still amazed that both U3 and the CL Global Uke Squad appeared at the Ukulele Festival Hawaii last month!  Watch our truly impressive Rainbow Flash Mob again.  After an event-filled July, I'm ready for a more laid-back August (reminder that I'm taking a break from my weekly 5@5 livestream during August - no change to Patreon lessons).  I read recently that the care you give yourself is the care you give to those around you.  So please remember to take care of yourself and show yourself kindness, and it will reflect in the community around you. 🌈🌴

Sneak preview - U3 music video shoots

In the whirlwind of the Ukulele Festival Hawaii, my trio U3 (me, Abe Lagrimas, Jr., and Ukulenny) joyously reunited and shot 2 music videos.  I can't wait to share them with you!  It will take a while to edit, but here's a first glimpse behind the scenes:

I look forward to seeing you at our live events this month!

Special note for new Patrons

If you are a new Patron, welcome!  Please introduce yourself in the comments below. I'd love to hear how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have a group to play with, what songs you've been working on, or anything else you'd like to share.

I recommend all new Patrons check out our community WelcomeGuide/FAQ post.  Please be patient as you get familiar with the Patreon platform. I promise it will get easier to use if you take time to look around. If you have a question that the WelcomeGuide/FAQ post doesn't answer, please comment there to help us continue to update the FAQ.

To find a specific song or lesson, learn to use the updated Cynthia Lin Song Index.  Thank you to the Community Managers for creating and maintaining this helpful resource.

If you have more questions about Patreon, I encourage you to post your questions to one of our Community groups. Our community has tons of friendly folks who love sharing their uke experience. Our private Facebook group is particularly active, and we've streamlined the steps to join. Request to join right on the Facebook group page, and be sure to answer BOTH membership questions so Community Managers can verify your Patron status. Scroll to the Community Notes section at bottom of this post for more ways to join and post to our Community.

Seasoned Patrons, I always appreciate it when you help me answer any newbie questions in the comments of this or any post.  Thank you! Feel free to post your questions in the comments as well.

Marlon Bravo

Aloha everyone! My name is Marlon and I've been playing the Ukulele since about 2 summers ago. I suppose you can say I've been playing for 2 years. I enjoy playing the Tenor Ukulele. I am currently learning the 'Just the Two of Us' tutorial live video. I wish everyone a special and wonderful day!

Tina Sleeper

Hello! I am very excited to have joined this community. I have been playing for just over a month. I bought a Makala concert uke for my 5-year-old for her birthday on June 20. I learned a song to try to get her more comfortable and try to help teach her how to play. Then, I found Cynthia Lin's YouTube tutorials and kept on playing. I just finished the sixth video. I play for my daughter all the time, and she has memorized the lyrics to many of the songs as well. She recently took the uke and started jamming to it, in a nonsensical but happy way. I look forward to us both playing together and have added a uke of my own to my Christmas list.

Josh Panganiban

Hello everyone! New member but long time subscriber to Cynthia's channel. I've been playing the uke off and on for the last 5 years but have recently picked it back up in a more serious sense this past year. I'm excited to be a part of this community and for whats in store! Aloha from San Diego, CA!

Wendy Pedersen

Wendy from Miami! I’m loving the lessons!

Cymbre

Aloha y’all, from Texas! ❤️ So glad to meet the community! I’ve been playing my concert size uke for 3 months and Cynthia’s tutorials have been perfect for an absolute beginner like me! Thank you, Cynthia! I try to practice daily and I’m currently working on “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, and songs from Cynthia’s “Beginner Holiday Jam”. “Mele Kalikimaka” is so fun and my favorite to play! Wishing everyone in the community a wonderful day, playing your favorite songs!

Simone Bruhin

Hello everybody from europ/switzerland. My name is Simone, I play a concertukulele for 2 month now and love the style Cynthia is teaching. My daughter plays the guitar and I hope That we can play some day together!

Ian Garlic

Hi! Been here a few months. Have a bunch of ukes. Been playing since my son was born, for seven years. I’m great at getting about 70% with a song then moving on. Been working on my finger style and banjolele a lot. Most of my practice is on my dock in Orlando Fl. Come on by and jam!!

Stella Morgner

Hello and Aloha from Germany! My name ist Stella and I playing my Concert Ukulele since march this year. What can I say...it make my day, make me happy with every strumm I play, can't wait playing again and watching and practice your great tutorial videos. I can't find here in my hood a teacher or people to learn more about the Ukulele and all the facts behind. I'm a carpenter and loving the wood raw material and working with it. It would be very nice to visit a handcraft factory in lovely Hawaii....🥰. Maybe one day.... Thanx for the way to learn playing ukulele also for all the different style music!

Rici

Hallo Stella, solltest du aus der Nähe von Mainz kommen, könnten wir ja mal schauen, ob wir spieltechnisch zusammen kommen können.

Eve

Hi Stella, I'm from Germany too and started in February this year. I'd love to talk to you about what you are currently playing/working on, maybe we could work on something together/at the same time and talk about challenges etc. Eve

Stella Morgner

Angela Prenosil

AloHA! Uke beginner here, but know how to read music and can carry a tune decently. Bought a concert size and absolutely LOVE Cynthia's style of teaching and her energy. Working on LOTS of songs, but my favs are Stairway to Heaven Part1, I'm Yours, Summertime and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I practice most every day and am REALLY enjoying it! From Massachusetts

Tammy Hurley

Aloha Cynthia! I am going to be in HI in a few weeks and I really want to play uke while I'm there. I was going to bring my outdoor one but was also wondering how easy it is to rent one. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Jenny Selig

Hi, Tammy! Cynthia doesn't get a chance to answer all the messages she gets, but this would be a great question for the FB group if you're in that and you don't get responses here. And maybe other Patrons will see this and share their answers here! :)
