Let’s Practice: Community Jam playlist and songbooks (Patreon)

Aloha, Patrons!

When the pandemic lockdowns first began in March 2020, my musical partner Ukulenny and I started to jam together online in the effort to 1) gather our communities around virtual live music events to lift everyone's spirits, and 2) figure out how to play music together across the internet without lag.  We recorded Community Jams monthly through April 2021, with a different theme and songbook each month!

Now that so many folks are locked down again due to coronavirus restrictions, I want to encourage folks to come back to these Community Jams and songbooks.  These songbooks offer a wide variety of practice material, and the jam recordings provide a reference for playing along.  It's also eye-opening to look back and see how far we've all come in learning about tech, Zoom-jamming, and green screen magic.

I've made a YouTube playlist of Community Jam livestreams, and there's a list below for links to the posts for each jam, which has the songbooks attached.  Songbooks are also linked in the YouTube description box on each livestream video.  Some videos feature "chapter markers" so you can click directly to the song in the YouTube progress bar.  You are  welcome to add a timestamp to any video by commenting with the timecode as xx:xx (for example, 05:20 for a song at the 5 minute 20 second mark).  You can also go to the Public Patreon Posts/Livestreams tab on the Cynthia Lin Song Index for specific song timestamps - if you haven't used the Song Index yet, it's an amazing resource to all my videos online, maintained by the Community Managers (thank you, team!).
