Special note for new Patrons

If you're new, I invite you to take some time to get to know the platform - there's a lot here, and it may take a while to navigate the many lessons and posts.  The community WelcomeGuide/FAQ post is a good place to start.

To find a specific song or lesson, learn to use the updated Cynthia Lin Song Index.  Thank you to the Community Managers for creating and maintaining this helpful resource.

Please introduce yourself in the comments: I'd love to hear how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have a group to play with, what songs you've been working on, or anything else you'd like to share.

If you have questions about Patreon, I encourage you to post your questions in the comments below or to one of our Community groups. Our community has tons of friendly folks who love sharing their uke experience. Join our Patron-only Facebook group (be sure to answer BOTH membership questions) or post your question on the Community tab here on Patreon.

Seasoned Patrons, I always appreciate it when you help me answer any newbie questions in the comments of this or any post.  Thank you! Feel free to post your questions in the comments as well.

Uke flash mob in Tokyo😍😍😍 I’m in!!! Can’t wait!!!!!!!

Leanne Bertino

Greetings! I'm a new patron but not entirely new to the ukulele. In the late 1990's I found a very old and dirty ukulele in a thrift shop. I found some online resources and taught myself how to play. Right now my primary player is an Ohana concert with a cedar top. The old ukulele I found was a mahogany Gibson built between 1928-1931. It is at the luthier's for a repair right now, but it has a lovely 1920's sound. Thanks for letting me a part of this amazing community and resource.

Asami Miya

Hello I'm a beginner in ukulele from Tokyo! My ukulele was sleeping in my closet, but you inspired me to play ukulele with fun. Soon after that I got your signature model, and now I practice and sometimes enjoy playing together with other students. I can't wait to see you again in Tokyo! ^^

Donald Chong

I just upgraded from basic($1) to beginner jam($10). I am a beginner with a Ohana solid cedar top soprano(from mim) and a donner laminate concert duc-1(from amazon). In strumming i struggle with timing (only comfortable with c, g, f chords)and in fingerstyle i struggle with left hand fingers touching adjacent strings. i hope to join the beginner jam and learn with some structure.

Kazu

Hi Cynthia, I'm in Tokyo atm but what a pity as I will return to Sydney in mid Oct😭

Mareile Nickel

Hi Cynthia, I'm Mareile a beginner in ukulele from Germany! As a child I played guitar. That helps me now a lot to get better into playing ukulele. I enjoy very much your youtube tutorials. They are so great. I play a very special ukulele which my uncle build for me. My ukulele is made of a cigar box.

Rick Elizaga

I'd definitely try to make it to Tokyo (from Osaka) to catch a show and join a flash mob. : )

Cynthia Lin

hi donald! congrats on upgrading! i think the beginner jam will be helpful for you. check out the mindful ukulele series that we started this january.

Cynthia Lin

i know! i will come to Oz before too long, but too bad we are not overlapping this time. i will give you more heads up next time. :)

Kazu

Yes, I look forward to hearing your announcement for Aust tour😉 Hope you have a great time in Tokyo!!

Heather

Hi Cynthia...I'm a beginner ukulele player from British Columbia, Canada. I played a little guitar decades ago and have dabbled in ukulele but never really got past beginner so hoping to advance!

Atsuko

Can't wait to see you in Tokyo!!!
