Aloha, Patrons!

A warm welcome to all the new Patrons!  If you're a new Patron, please introduce yourself in the comments, and check out the New Patrons section below.  Take some time to look around, check out the WelcomeGuide/FAQ, and post any additional questions below.

🇯🇵 Get Your Tickets!  CL in TOKYO in October

I'm coming back to Tokyo for a series of live events the last week of October.  Excited to eat yummy things 🍡, work on my music with my friend Yoshi, and jam with Tokyo / Japan Patrons!  Comment below if you'll be there!  Check out the details and get your tickets here. And stop by 5@5 to hear the Japanese songs I've been working on.

📣 Community Bulletin Board: Share your upcoming Uke events here

I'd like to develop a way for Patrons to share the events they're attending or hosting with the community.  We can start by posting in the comments in the monthly calendar, and see if there's a better way to share as we go forward.  If you're new to uke events, you can find out what's going on from fellow Patrons.  If you're attending or hosting an event, you can see if other Patrons would like to meet up and connect.  I love seeing all the pictures of 100-Dayers jamming together and hanging out at the recent LA Uke Fest, and I'm really proud of Terry Brandsma, who led an ukulele jam for the North Carolina Folk Festival last month.  I will announce events at the top of our live lesson and jams, so please do post the details here so I can share.

🌍⏰ European-friendly time for Intermediate Jam with guest teacher Sammy Turton (4stringboy)

This month, I've invited Sammy Turton aka 4stringboy back as a guest teacher (check out his awesome "Intro to Harmonics" lesson from July).  Since Sammy lives in Denmark, we'll broadcast live at 9:30pm European time, which means we can hopefully have some UK/Europe friends join us for the live event!  Building on the intro lesson on harmonics, Sammy will teach us a riff from his original composition "Rain," which incorporates harmonics in the instrumental chord melody.  And, we will use an alternate tuning!  That will be new for some folks, and that's exciting to me.  Check out Sammy's lovely and moody new album of original ukulele music here.

Special note for new Patrons

If you're new, I invite you to take some time to get to know the platform - there's a lot here, and it may take a while to navigate the many lessons and posts.  The community WelcomeGuide/FAQ post is a good place to start.

To find a specific song or lesson, learn to use the updated Cynthia Lin Song Index.  Thank you to the Community Managers for creating and maintaining this helpful resource.

Please introduce yourself in the comments: I'd love to hear how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have a group to play with, what songs you've been working on, or anything else you'd like to share.

If you have questions about Patreon, I encourage you to post your questions in the comments below or to one of our Community groups. Our community has tons of friendly folks who love sharing their uke experience. Join our Patron-only Facebook group (be sure to answer BOTH membership questions) or post your question on the Community tab here on Patreon.

Seasoned Patrons, I always appreciate it when you help me answer any newbie questions in the comments of this or any post.  Thank you! Feel free to post your questions in the comments as well.

Hi everyone - I'm new here, but had a blast taking in person classes with Cynthia and playing for the Aloha Uke Squad while she was still in SF (hi Cynthia!) 2 young boys later, my Islander is collecting dust but I'm excited to get back into it!
