Jessica throwing Sookie on the floor and saying “would you shut the fuck up?” gave me a chuckle and so much satisfaction. 😂🤣🤣

Editing this slightly to make sure there are no hints or spoilers. That cult stuff gives such creeeeepy vibes. We've long seen that Jason is an idiot (or "idjit," as Bobby Singer would say), but falling for a cult is a whole new depth! Good stuff. 😁 Jason is exactly the sort they would prey on, too. Lost, confused, no real purpose, just suffered loss. I loved that Tara and Sookie scene, where Tara -- her mind the opposite of Jason's softened brain cells -- is questioning Maryanne and what's really going on, at the same time WE are wondering what in the hell is actually going on with Maryanne. Lafayette's plight makes my heart hurt, and that vicious attack at the end by all three. He (is? was? can't tell you!) one of the best characters in this series for me. Tara and Eric are right up there, too; if you can't tell by that, I like my vampires very, very dangerous, and Eric fits that perfectly. I also adore Terry and Holt, though we haven't seen much of them, because every time either is on the screen, they are making themselves endearing. Also....Eric having his long hair cut is a travesty! Still irks me all these years later. Why can't men just be allowed to have long hair? I weep.... 😩

By the way, I'm sure you have seen the 1980s vampire horror-comedy The Lost Boys already, yes? But there are at least two more vampire movies from that era you both should react to when you're ready to do another movie. Fright Night -- the ORIGINAL, not the poor 21st century remake -- is a campy horror-comedy, and Near Dark is a dark horror. I think both would appeal, for different reasons. And, of course, if by some strange chance you haven't seen The Lost Boys, that film is an absolute must and always garners a lot of attention on YouTube and Patreon.

Not Cody trying to explain a Bible story based on the chocolate bunny episode of Veggie Tales. 😂😂😂 I'm glad Eric is growing on you guys; he and Pam are my faves. I've never been as drawn to Bill as a character; I find him a little boring. And his chemistry with Sookie is surprisingly lukewarm imo, despite the actors being married in real life. I kind of love Cody's question about how much of a house a vampire can destroy before it's not a house anymore and they can just come in. It's basically the vampire version of the Ship of Theseus thought experiment.

Ebony

Eric has no business looking that good while going after my bestie

A Cup of Cait

I have always found the picture of Gran to be creepy lmao she looks like a photoshopped nightmare to me

kiara

I keep thinking of the Killer Bebes from Kim Possible every time Maryann does her little shaky power thing 🤭

Becky B.

Loved Jessica's impression of Bill. Does anyone else want to laugh every time he says, "SoOkiE! JeSsiCA! I am vampire"? He's so dramatic lol.

Joshua Shields

If its any consolation, its the same with Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas from Once Upon a Time. Lukewarm at best onscreen chemistry, strong IRL marriage that turns heads whenever they regularly go to Disney amusement parks and peeps see Snow White & Prince Charming in line together lol.

Joshua Shields

Great reference! If the guys launch that spin-off genre show channel, if they haven't seen Kim Possible it should be on the list.

Josh Minke

god i love Eric. even better with that haircut haha. im a straight man, but ill admit he's abit of a man crush of mine lol

rubberroomratty

After this season, you should react to the music video for Depeche Mode's Corrupt. It is the promo for S2.

un.filth.er.ed

I didn't realize Eric's haircut debuted this early! I'm glad y'all are enjoying this show, as traumatic as it can be.

Poor Jason. Pretty but dumb as a box of rocks

The summarized story of Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego is these three young men, originally named Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, were Hebrew captives turned favored servants in Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar. The king erected a massive golden statue and after some manipulated flattery and cajoling by jealous officials & astrologers the king decreed all must bow down and worship it whenever people heard the sound of musical instruments. Anyone who disobeyed would be thrown into a blazing furnace. These three men refusal to bow to the idol, even under the threat of death, firmly exhibited their belief in divine deliverance and unwavering faith. (After being bound & thrown into the furnace, the King looked in and saw 4 men (some versions say it was the Son of God) unbound and walking around inside the furnace. He commanded them to walk out & when they did, their hair, clothes and bodies were completely unaffected. This story highlights the power of one’s faith, courage and integrity especially during hard times or when it’s the unpopular choice…. You know the pictures on the back of the performance stage could be the Son of the Fellowship using art as a subliminal visual way to promote crucifying and burning vampires all “in the name of Jesus”. I think Jason is having a moral & ethical crisis with the person people expect him to be and the true nature of not only how he was raised but at his core, who he is and what he believes. “Jesus Asked Me Out Today” is such a hilarious juxtaposition of being “pure” or religiously “holy” and being hedonistically seductive and unethically proactive all at the same time. Definitely a satirical commentary on “trying” to make commercialized religious music attractive and culturally current. Like you said the subtext was VERY disturbing. With an ALL VERY YOUNG female performers on stage, it felt like they were condoning and promoting predatorial behavior.

Season 2 imo is the best season! 🖤

Zombies_Are_Real

I've always loved that it's canon in the show and books that vampires can't change their appearance, but then they said fuck it, have a hotter Eric! 🤣

BattyT

Like surely they had actual younger pics of Lois Smith they could have stuck in there

BattyT

So glad Eric lost the wig 😍 The weird sultry aspect of the Jesus song was kind of a commentary on how purity culture fetishizes virginity that whole church and institute/hate camp is a pretty accurate representation of culty evangelical Christians I think Bill is being aggro because he feels so guilty about what happened to Jessica and he already had a lot of internalized self hatred about being a vampire, so he’s being a dickish Maker about it

Michael

Mildly Irrelevant, but anyone here has read the True Blood comics? I’m looking into them now and are pretty good. I didn’t even know they existed.

Dana Mae

Dumb as a box of hair, according to Dawn. Still one of my favorite insults 😆

Miss Maya

poor Lafayette is really going through it. seeing Eric vamp out was worth it tho! :D *evil laugh* hehehe. The whole Maryann situation is heating up.. love hearing your theories :) I love season 2 it's crazy :)

Gemma

I feel like they’ve mentioned seeing Fright Night in another video, but I could be wrong. If not, I’d love to see a reaction to it.

Gemma

I know Bill isn’t so popular, but I love how dramatic and miserable he is lol.

Gemma

Some men look much better with longer hair, but I don’t think Eric is one of them lol. He looks great with the short hair imo.

Elisa

For me, I don’t like Bill for Sookie. Just because he’s a good for a vampire doesn’t mean he’s good. He killed his girlfriend’s (albeit awful) grandfather and didn’t tell her - if someone’s human boyfriend did that it would be insane. And then he has the nerve to yell at Sookie (again!) and tell her it’s all her fault without even knowing what happened. I’m not sure how many times he’s yelled at her now but if my significant other had yelled at me multiple times and we hadn’t even been dating that long, even if I did something foolish, it would be over. On another note, having gone to a number of Christian camps growing up, the Capture the Flag games were always fun, even if I always just guarded the jail. The earnestness/cringeyness of the meetings was spot on. But I can say we never had schoolgirl singing hour.

Kimberly S. (Rawr)

The opening with the arm being launched was crazy. So worried for Lafayette but I liked the scene of Eric asking him if there was blood in his hair 😂 I love Lafayette doing what it takes to survive at any cost. Even throwing Jason under the bus. Jason’s old McDonald joke was funny. Tara was so real for saying that she would take a shower in Egg’s sweat if she could. Sam having a $100,000 loan with Maryann is crazy! 🤯 Lafayette using that guy’s metal hip to break through his chains was so smart 👏🏼 Not Ginger shooting him 😭 I don’t anticipate anything good coming from Jason being positioned as the new golden boy of the church. His new buddy is so jealous. Definitely feel like Anna Canp’s character & Jason are gonna have a thing. Really liked Sookie trying to comfort Jessica. Bill going out trying to buy clothes for Jessica was sweet. The saleswoman thinking Bill & Eric were a thing because he rejected her advances 😂 Daphne floundering at her job at every turn was funny. Sam was having none of Maryann making everyone at the bar dance and party with whatever magic mojo she has. Her forcing Sam to shift against his will was wild! Oof I knew Sookie taking Jessica to her house wouldn’t go well. Lafayette propositioning Eric to turn him! Them chowing down on him was not something I wanted to see. Bill using his glamour on Jessica’s little sister to invite him in was crazy. And telling Sookie it was all her fault. He was all business. I literally CANT with these cliffhangers 😭 The drama is so good. I definitely feel like the church storyline will crossover with Eric & Bill looking for the Sheriff vampire that’s missing. Such a great breakdown & reaction from y’all 🖤

Epic Nerd Waffle

I actually love Jason's arc this season because it represents so many people who fall prey to extremist beliefs. He's going through so much trauma and the Light of Day people are just the type of people that prey on people who feel lost. I love this show because it definitely gives perspective on how and why people so quickly turn into the monsters they hate while trying to find "the light".

Thirstygoddess

Ginger makes me question the state of my humanity, because every single time that woman screams I laugh my ass off.

Mimi Universe

Anna Paquin is a SCREAM QUEEN okayyy i love her. And Eggs is so hot I have always had a crush on Mehcad Brooks

rickie woodson

that bus ride was sooooooo homoerotic to me, no one can tell me it wasnt intentional. and that song is a bop! i renamed it "little girl with braids" and i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it. replace jesus with zeus and its even more presonalble

Ole Fonky DeeDee

4:50 - It's one of my fave things. He says her name so fast and hard hahaha

lula

i looove eric and bill’s dynamic they’re so cute

Ellorna

Cause that wasn't his long hair lol it was a terrible wig and that he managed to somehow look good in spite of it is a miracle. Now, had it been real hair? It would've looked much better and they would've kept it. That wasn't the case here though.

Ellorna

I mean technically if we're gonna blame anyone for the Jessica situation, I say we blame Eric. Remember Eric agreed to take and raise her until she became too much so he dropped her at Bill's house. Like some of this stuff she should've already been told and Eric didn't tell her any of it sooo. . . We have to remember that as of that conversation with Sookie? Jessica has been in that house for a total of one day. And while Sookie meant well, she should've said no cause as ya'll pointed out - she isn't a vampire. She isn't going to be able to stop Jessica if she misbehaves and Bill warned her repeatedly about the freshly turned having impulse-control issues. So I get Bill's attitude toward Sookie in this moment cause now he is being forced into this situation - a situation where he isn't acting like himself(the nest thingie he talked about doesn't apply here cause it takes time & he's barely been around Jessica plus one vamp doesn't make a nest) cause if he behaves the normal Bill way everyone in that house ends up dead - when it could've been avoided altogether. Yes, Sookie meant well, but it doesn't absolve her of blame here.
