I'm not sure what we expected being that we have not seen the original but this one honestly surprised us! A mixture of true crime and slasher movies. Plus we really enjoyed the commentary on disturbing media and social media in general. Barbie Ferreira and Dacre Montgomery did an amazing job especially Dacre. Definitely was hard to find him attractive in this one 😂 Let us know your thoughts and have y'all seen the original!?

A woman, employed as a website content moderator, comes across a series of violent videos reproducing death scenes from a film.

This movie is Rated R and so is this reaction. Viewer Discretion is Advised.

I loved this film and yes I'm old entri remember the Faces of Death Hype. Oh, you guys I beg you to react to Obsession when it comes out streaming. PLEASE! That's the best horror film I've seen in years.

Becky B.

This was a crazy and interesting ride. I'm glad I got to watch it with you guys.

I legit clicked on this thinking it was the one from the 70’s….that I saw on VHS at 13 in the 90’s…only to find out in the 2000’s that most of it, including THAT scene, was fake. You know the one. We Gen Xer’s truly grew up in and lived in a different world🤣 ok EDIT all the death videos she pauses on at work and watches in this that the killer is staging, are reenactments of the original Faces Of Death video vignettes. Which is very cool. And trust me I know because, again, I’ve actually seen it….and some of it I’ve never forgotten, especially THAT scene. Again, you know the one 😂 EDIT EDIT had no idea this would become the plot of this film. Thought it would just be a nod and wink to those who saw the original. Making it the plot of the film though? Wayyyy cooler. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Much more than a 13 yr old me enjoyed the original VHS that at the time I didn’t know was actually fake 🤣

Making this comment before I watch. I was about 10 when the VHS of this started circulating in the 80s. It was such a taboo thing. People talked about it like it was an underground video that you would be lucky to find. My friend’s older brother got a copy and we watched it and I was horrified. This movie has none of that hype. I doubt it’s going to be good and neither was the first one, but the first one had a grainy underground quality which would be so much better. It’s really a shame you are watching this one. But I’m gonna watch with you anyway.

Yeah, the animal cruelty is the reason I will never watch the 1978 movie

Ana Fox

Let me just go delete all my social media. Oh, wait, I need my bandwagon fix.

Misfit

What an awful movie. Speaking of Creep, you should watch that movie.

.... Dacre Montgomery could change my life....

This was crazy. I only watched it because it seemed pretty far removed from the original. I saw one or two Faces of Death movies as a kid in the 80s, I’m not sure if I saw the original or one of the sequels. Unfortunately from the little I’ve read some or most of the animal torture/killing was real, that was what scarred me most. There was a 2000s thriller called Untraceable with Diane Lane that touched on a lot of the same issues. Social media and “content creation” wasn’t much of a thing then, so I think this added some new layers in addition to touching on the sadism and cruelty that a disturbing amount of people possess. I found the social commentary a little heavy handed but it wasn’t a bad movie.

As someone who has watched "Don't F**k with Cats" they show every single bit of the videos and it was genuinely horrific. I had to skip forward past them many times. If any of ya'll are sensitive to animal harm/death very much don't watch it. However the people who hunted that guy down were epic. They made a Facebook group and worked together to find him lol.

If y’all haven’t seen Tarot You might like it It’s not like the best horror movie but I personally love the concept and I like that it’s a little campy and stereotypical lol. And the tarot cards are 🤌

I desperately need y'all to do a series of reactions to are you afraid of the dark fr=or the pure nostalgia you'll feel and go through

Syd

Some of the deaths were real in the original, but it would be news footage of people jumping off buildings, a plane crash aftermath, a rode accident aftermath. Some of the animal stuff, too. On reddit you can find a list of everything that was real.

Shawn Brink

You must be a vegan then. You believe that killing an animal and consuming its flesh is immoral. Good for you.

This is one of those movies that just p*sses me off lolllll I hate when no one believes her...
