OMG I loved this episode so much. It definitely begins to introduce some great storylines. Saddle up for a great run of stellar episodes imho. Oh, and Sergio, you mentioned how you wondered if Sam and Ruby were still hooking up. If you remember in the season's first episode, "Lazarus Rising", when Bobby and Dean showed up at Sam's hotel room, Ruby answered the door in her little panty boy shorts and a tank top... so take that as you will. '-) And totally agree about Sam being some hot eye candy this season especially lol. I remember when it aired, a poplar meme was going around with Sam shirtless saying about how SPN fandom rules, how even our "nerds" look like Sam. LOL

The housekeeper Ruby is the Ruby I want from now on. Can we please get away from "always the slender, hot chick" vibe? 😂 I want the sassy Ruby packaged in someone we wouldn't expect. Not that she's unattractive because she isn't, but she isn't the socially-conventional "hot chick" either.

This episode was so good and I loved how they filled us in on what Sam was doing while Dean was gone. It was the mid season finale, so them leaving it where they did was so frustrating! We had to wait too long for the next one. Pros and cons of being an OG viewer. Supernatural was very rare for a CW (or was it still WB?) show at the time in not going heavy into the shirtless and sex stuff every other episode. They didn't want people distracted from the story. The story wasn't about their sex lives or how they looked shirtless. Was pretty rare at the time, for that channel. I liked it. But I also liked it whenever we did get some candy. It think Kripke had them "overdressed" partly for that reason. Jared likes to work out, and he was naturally a very slim - and tall - guy, so he wanted to get some meat on his bones. Well, he did. lol He did care a bit about how he looked on camera, but he wasn't worrying about that unless it was actually written into the script.

I'm so glad that being hot for Sam didn't stop you from being cautious about Ruby. I say this, because all I could think about was the fact that it took Sam a month to be able to pull a regular demon. Yet back in 3x16 ( episode when Dean got ripped apart by the hell hounds ) Ruby told Sam that he could save Dean without moving a muscle and Dean had less than 30 hours to go. That bothered me when I watched this episode. Also, Dean is grateful to Ruby because Sam told him that she saved Sam's life. I don't know if that means that Dean is going to change his feelings about her though. Regarding seeing either of the boys having intimate relations, we really only see them when it has some kind of impact on either the story or the boys. We know that Dean has been having one night stands since season one, we just don't see it happening. Sam was grieving for so long and celibate until Madison and that's why we see him being intimate with her. That's my impression at this point in the series :)

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't find Jared attractive. I think Gilmore Girls ruined him for me because his character (Dean lol) is so annoying in it. And I really want to like Sam more, I think I do in later seasons, but early he frustrates me, even though I try really hard to be forgiving/understanding

I've dislocated my shoulder, and yes, it does immediately feel better after it slips back in. It's very painful and that pain goes away instantly after it's fixed. You are left with some residual muscle tenderness and maybe some swelling depending on the injury, but nothing an ice pack and some ibuprofen won't handle lol.

Love the car scene where Sam pulls a Dean on Dean, telling him let’s trade stories, asking how was hell don’t spare the details ?! Even Dean had to kind of smirk at that. We recently see Sam use his powers to take out a powerful demon/witch so we expect for him to do it again only for it to barely tickle ALASTAIR! Good thing Sam and Dean jumping out the window didn’t end like The Rock & Samuel L Jackson in The Other Guys 😂 Sam is the real life Ned Flanders! Lol The cut to Dean’s face after hearing Sam and Ruby had sex ! 💀 Ruby did fill the Dean void, while Sam filled hers. 🤭 They have definitely done it again. When Dean and Bobby go see Sam after he gets pulled out of Hell , Ruby’s in her underwear. Dean has only had 1 sex scene on screen but he’s had plenty of hook ups off screen and we see him the morning after.

I love that character detail. Dean is rough on the outside but a caretaker and hungry for connection underneath. Sam is softer on the outside, but when he lets himself go he unleashes everything he has pent up.

I do agree. Dean needs the story about Ruby because he has to know if he can trust her. Sam just wants to know Dean's trauma. It is good to share for Dean, but Sam doesn't have to know. One is practical, the other is personal.

Oop that fight with Alastair could’ve gone better. Having to jump out the window & losing the demon blade was not ideal. Somebody get Ruby some french fries stat! Dean’s reaction to the Sam & Ruby hookup tho 😂 It was nice getting to see the gap in time with Sam & Ruby & fill in the missing events. Not the she has to die cliffhanger. I feel so bad for Anna. Her life getting turned upside down, losing her parents & being hunted by both the demons & angels. Loving these reactions 🖤
