My Mom had one of her albums with this song on it and played it all the time. It is not a slow, scary sounding song at all but very upbeat and cheery. Also several octaves higher in Day's voice. Happy birthday dear Cody, happy birthday to you!!! 🎁🩷 I watched the first 4 episodes with some of my friends in discord because I'm obsessed with this show now and I host horror nights on Sundays... Anyways my buddy said, "I don't know if this is a hot take but I don't really like Jim." On episode THREE! Hahaha I like that he's trying to figure stuff out but I'm 5000% with Cody about him being myopic. He's really boxing himself into only one theory and you can't be that way, just denying evidence of other things simply because it doesn't match your chosen preferred theory. It's funny to be watching this show and thinking about the scientific method 🤣 I wanna know what the hell else that aggressive guy had in his travel bags. Cuz I'm sorry he brings GUNS and a DRONE on a bus? Where the heck was he going, are we to believe the guns were for his nephew's birthday party too? If anybody seems like they are coming into the community on somebody's orders to provide a supply drop it would be him.

I really liked this episode as a follow up to the previous one. Gotta say I was with my boy Kenny on bringing the smiley monster inside & understood his reasoning behind not wanting to dissect it. But I agree that learning about the monsters could be helpful. I liked the character pairings in this one. Tabitha & Jade, Victor & Ethan, Julie & Elgin, etc. And people actually started to talk to each other & share information which was great to see. Mary & Elgin both seeing the music box & him getting drowned in the tub was wild. I love Donna trying to get Fatima to be optimistic about her pregnancy. The line “a miracle is just the other side of a nightmare” was sweet. I love how much she cares for Fatima & Ellis. I think she needs that optimism & hope after losing everyone in the colony house attack especially. The monster effects looked so creepy during that autopsy scene. Interesting to find out their insides are human just without the blood. Oh boy Jim getting Randall in on his conspiracy theory seems like it’ll be unproblematic for sure 😂 Loving your reactions & theory crafting guys 🖤

Did y’all know Harold Perrineau is in his 60’s?! That is shocking to me. He looks like he’s maybe 38-40 to me. Black don’t crack. And he’s just such a fantastic actor! He brings such realism to the role of Boyd, and grounds and balances the whole ensemble show.

I’m watching with you guys and have no prior knowledge of the show or plot, but I will say that I am noticing an issue with the constant use of the “the audience knows, but the characters aren’t communicating with each other” trope. In fact, it seems to lean pretty hard into that trope sometimes, which to me smacks of lazy writing. That said, regarding what we know so far of the mythology, I think the writers have done an excellent job with that aspect of things.

Sometimes the right answer is the most obvious one. In the previous episode you mentioned what if the old lady is a plant. Which in this episode made me wonder if the "morphine" is in fact morphine or something contaminated that when used it has microscopic versions of those worms and then infect the blood of those who use it. So now Mariel would be infected too.
