Wow!! What a way to start a season...Blood, Drama, Music and a hallway fight. Lestat is already serving trouble lol More to come! We unfortunately won't be able to react to the second episode on time since we will on Vacay. However, once we are back we will be getting that to you all ASAP. After that all the reactions should be posted on Mondays!

Think of the Talamasca like the Watchers from Buffy. They observe the supernatural beings of the world, and are a barrier between them and humans. Also the tracks are available on streaming now. I’m waiting to listen once we’re through the season, but they’re temptinggggggg.

Insane first episode. Truly captured what its like when you start reading the book too. There is a very big vibe shift. Loving it so far and im so excited to keep seeing Lestat being Lestat ;)

it's also fun that while it is still a narration of their own story just like louis' season, they are showing how their narration style is very different. louis had been thinking, probably since the first interview, about how he was going to tell his story to daniel the second time. carefully thinking about the build up and reveals until the final blow of lestat's murder and the play. obviously daniel and his own memory threw a wrench in the careful narration that he had planned and towards the end he kept getting surprised by his own story. as it is the first episode i of course am not sure what lestat's angle is. but he is in contrast to louis all over the place. getting ahead of himself in his story and having to rewind. it seems way less planned and told in the heat of the moment. of course you can also see that he is intentionally avoiding daniel's questions. im very excited to see where it goes.

There are two other shows in the Immortal Universe; Talamasca: The Secret Order and Mayfair Witches. Talamasca was cancelled but the Mayfair witches are why Lestat wasn't in New Orleans anymore, as that is where that show is currently set.

i find interesting how self aware lestat can be. He calls himself out a couple of times in the episode, he calls out his ego and how it was his fault the band was being 'mediocre' and in his narration he says over and over that he shouldve stopped this and that it was a mistake. Also when he calls Louis insane he immediatly backtracks embarrased that he said that. I can't wait to hear more of him now that the door opened to all those memories he doesnt want to engage with.

This is so unhinged and messy. And I love it. I watched it last night but there was so much going on. I need to see it again. Is it just me or was there a whole Phantom of the Opera thing going on with the auction thing in the beginning? Love the moi and toi texts. I knew it was Gabrielle because I read the books. But the reveal was amazing. Lestat crashing out while reading the book was perfect. Lestat in the pink satin shirt. Damn.

I didn't realize on my first watch but when Lestat answers the door for the trick or treaters, there's a kid dressed up as Armand when he comes back from chasing that one guy and i think from the club when he and louis met daniel thats such a nice touch lol

You need to read them in order. It's a story that builds on itself. Interview is a quick read anyway. I believe it's the shortest book in the series.

This was such a great surprise, thank you for getting it out to us! (Not a spoiler: this happened in season 2)In IWTV, the guy who fed Daniel info, he worked for the Talamasca. Sam and Rashid also worked for them. Sam gave them the trial script with Armand’s notes that proved Lestat saved Louis. I love how chaotic this episode was, it really captured Lestat’s personality and the spirit of the book. I also love how they still wove in the gorgeous poetic writing we came to expect from the first two seasons. Good eye for catching that stain on Lestat’s pants after he crowd surfed. 😅 I can’t wait to get more of Lestat’s history!

@ Pat if you've watched the '94 movie i'd say go ahead and read the vampire lestat as that is a closer adaptation to the book. I've read all the way up until Memnoch the devil so based on that I can confidently say you wont miss anything or be clueless. The books after IWTV are narrated by Lestat anyway whereas IWTV is Louis' interpretation and narration. Can't speak on anything beyond Memnoch tho.

Oh, my god, I loved this episode so much! Loved the chaos, the glam rock, the glitter, everything. Sam is such a delight as Lestat. And, as a Canadian, hearing Lestat say “Tabarnak!” made me laugh 😂
