LOVE getting to revisit this season with y'all 💚 I started loving the show so much I got ahead of your watch alongs 😅

Ash

Am I the only one who thinks the actor for Marcus is kind of cute lol?

Misfit

Getting juicy. There is so much more to come. Love hearing Siouxsie And The Banshees at the end there.

rickie woodson

hoyt didnt change, you just havent seen him angry. he is simply heartbrokn. angry, sad, or happy, you are always who you are. those are just emotions you feel.

Ghost

I forgot how cool of a hero shot that was of Jason jumping out of the white light (the nothing aka death, all symbolism). Top notch cinematography

Tallulah

i hate hoyt. creepy man child

PinkLady

He's so emotionally unstable. His mom did a number on him. And hard to believe as Jasons best friend he doesn't have much dating experience. I must say though, the writers do a good job at making you hate every character, depending on the season.

Tallulah

bill looking extra good in that end fight scene…

PinkLady

Ugh 😩 we're almost half way through the series. Im gonna try to soak it in while it last but i will MISS these reactions.

shelly manson

Just wanna put 1 more suggestion for Halloween season. Horror movie and main actor is Jason from here. movie - Dead Silence

2026-09-24 19:00 The song is technically not Louisiana French but Louisiana Creole, a related but separate language. The lullaby is understandable to a French speaker, but it's not actually French per se. Its a sweet song. Translation Go to sleep, my little Petey I'll teach you to weave wool, Go to sleep, my little Petey, I'll teach you to make clogs. Go to sleep, my little Petey You'll never go to school, Go to sleep, my little Petey, I'll teach you whatever you need. Go to sleep, my little Petey You'll know how to cultivate land, Go to sleep, my little Petey, I'll give you a coach and horses. -

facts. we saw him upset with his mother before but romantic heartbreak is different. jessica was his first love and he truly does love her sooooo much plus she took his virginity which adds a whole nother level of hurt.

B-dad

To be fair his reaction is also based on the fact that she glamoured him to just be with her and they can be happy. And she just broke up with him. So partially not his fault. She was messing with his mind!

Matthew O'Hare

Jessica is the villain in that relationship.

courtney 🧚🏽‍♀️

i HATE them putting jessica and jason together. its so hurtful and disgusting. plus its messed up for jason to even consider doing that to hoyt i mean he already kissed her. homie hopping is never okay in my book.

I think Eric attacking impulsively in the battle makes sense. Do you remember the flashback of him as a human? He was immature and selfish and just cared about hooking up with women. His dad told him he needed to grow up to be king and he didn't want the responsibility. So I think showing Eric as immature and impulsive at times is actually in sync with him in that flashback.

Michael

This episode was written by Alan Ball, and you can tell. It’s soooo good.

Kate Wilson

My biggest memory from this episode is how dinky the tombstones in the cemetery are....gotta love good lighting and movie magic! It was so much being a trashy southern belle in the wolf pack...I got a credit as werebitch no. 2 eventually...but no lines

PinkLady

You are correct. Andys family home was used in season 1 as Mariannes house. They changed a few things but i guess production was like eh. Cheaper than getting a new house.

Eris Chanfully

Regarding the amount of treatment that Sookie x Eric were getting with the love scenes-- them first getting together in the books (it's a very specific and well-known scene among fans) was arguably one of the most seminal [and hottest] in the entire book series, so much so that I think I remember Alan Ball saying something about having to live up to that scene when they were producing this season. When I bought my used copy of the book where it happens, my god, the book's spine was DEEPLY creased precisely where the book pages open to when Sookie x Eric first...yeah. I see echoes of that book scene throughout episodes 7 and 8. As a book fan, these last two episodes did feel somewhat fan service-y with Sookie x Eric and so I think one might appreciate them more if you've read the books and were a major Sookie x Eric stan at the time.

PinkLady

Yeah i see that

Isabelle

French Canadian here! The ghost girl singing to the baby is just singing an old nursery rhyme. 'Fais dodo, bébé mon petit, fais dodo, mon cher petit'. Which translates to like 'go to sleep little one, go to sleep my little darling'

First Question - Dom

I feel like he has changed too. I don’t think they’re off base. The way he was talking to Jessica was abusive.

The Horror Bandwagon

Don’t remind us 😭😭 This show has been the absolute best and especially sharing it with all of you!

Puffadder

Fun random fact: Cajun french in Louisiana came from the French Acadians of Nova Scotia and other Maritime Provinces in Canada. The Brits expelled some Acadians for essentially not bending the knee to the British crown. So they migrated down to southern Louisiana. If you say Acadian with a french Acadian accent, it sounds like "Acajun". My last name is Acadian and I could have family in Louisiana that I don't know about. Creole, however, is different. That ghost is possibly Creole, but she could also be Cajun. I don't know too much about the history of Creole as I am Canadian. But I think I'll do some reading on it tonight now. Education never stops, one of the things I love most in this world. Also, I may have rewound yalls reaction to Jessica's dream about killing Hoyt like 10 times lmao. I swear Cody's voice dropped 5 octaves 🤣

Mahaut

French here! She’s singing an alternative version of a popular nursery rhyme called « Fais dodo Colas mon petit frère ». This version translated goes: « Sleep baby, my little one. Sleep my little darling ».

Mahaut

As a French I would say she sounds more Creole

Mahaut

It is a French song actually but with changed lyrics (but still completely understandable to French speakers). Our version is called « Fais dodo, Colas mon petit frère »

Nika

French speaker here. The lady ghost is singing a common lullaby but some of the words are not in the correct order (maybe a bad translation or maybe an other french dialect then mine?) The lullaby basically translate to: Go to sleep my little one, go to sleep my darling little one.

Amy

The thing i find really interesting about the Hoyt/Jessica break up is how Jessica dreamed of Hoyt. She dreamed him like this sniveling, love sick dork who she could dominate and even kill but his actual reaction cut her so deeply. Just good writing to distinguish how she saq him vs. Who he actually is.

Juley

No villains here. She was 17 years old and a new vampire when they got together. He was an inexperienced man-child. It’s only been a year. They’re still kids. They can’t be expected to have a smooth-sailing forever relationship right now. It was doomed to fail.

Tallulah

i would say hoyt was the villian in that relationship… SHE WAS 17 i’d get it if she had years of being a vampire but it was soon after she changed and he was an ADULT i’m surprised people don’t think of him more as the “villain”

Juley

That flashback was when Eric was supposed to be a teenager. He’s older in the flashback when Godric turns him. By that time, he’s a fierce and well-seasoned Viking warrior. I think that’s more likely the source of his impulse toward violence in battle. And his willingness to strike first. In his day, Viking warriors didn’t have peace accords or diplomacy. It was kill or be killed. He’s spent a thousand years learning how to gain power through other means - money, manipulation, fear, lying, alliances, bargaining, delayed gratification, etc. Now he doesn’t remember any of that.

Juley

Agreed. The books were littered with sex scenes, but that the only one I remember in detail. Lol!

Juley

The distinction between Creole and Cajun is very complicated. Creoles are the multi-racial immigrants who colonized Louisiana. They came from all over, but mostly from the Caribbean and Europe and many were formerly enslaved West Africans. They all blended together, intermarried, and developed their own culture — mostly French speaking and Catholic. Acadians were part of that mix and generally considered themselves Creole like everyone else. But as racial issues divided the new nation and laws were created declaring people with even one drop of African blood to be Black Americans with less rights, things changed. People of Acadian descent wanted to distance themselves from the Creole (mixed race) community. So the Cajun identity was increasingly used as a means of declaring themselves to be purely white. The Acadians had mostly settled in the countryside, while other creoles were in the city. But they weren’t completely isolated. In truth, most people whose ancestors are from the area are mixed race, regardless of whether they identify as white, Black, mixed race, Cajun, Creole, etc.

Blue Dragonfly

Actually I think Alcide and Debbie are a really cute couple now. It would be kinda said if it doesn't work out... and it doesn't look good right now.

Jacob Young

We are 4 seasons deep print out the lyrics at this point lmaooooo (jk I love yall)

Gemma

Meh. Hoyt is around 29. He got with an inexperienced kid and expected what? Maturity and everlasting love?

Gemma

I still don’t see any chemistry between Sookie and Eric personally. I think it says a lot that they could only get together with Eric acting like a completely different person.

Jacob Young

🤭🤭🤭🤭 yall got the from theme DOWN but can’t seem to remember a single lyric from true bloods…correction Sergio remembered “blue”

Cyndy

No, there are no villains. She was turned against her will at 17. Her dad was extremely controlling. Hoyt lost his dad. His mother was extremely controlling. They both had issues to deal with and weren't ready for an adult relationship.

ballpointblues

Eric's neck wound makes me so deeply uncomfortable.

Michael

I love how the fog looks in the end. It’s so beautiful and very on brand for True Blood’s southern gothic campy, cooky style.

The Horror Bandwagon

It’s still a no…also…not a single lyric is a stretch. You honing in on one verse I can’t get down 😂

Jacob Young

SCREAMING at this 🤣🤣🤣

Lisa Elizabeth

Very late, but I wanted to add a few things: The reporter who interviewed Bill was the host for the first season of Top Chef Canada and I think it had just finished airing when this episode aired so I was incredibly familiar with her face. The tiny bit of sheet covering Eric while he and Sookie are in the snow!bed is a reference to a sexy Fangtasia calendar in the books that Eric sends to Sookie (via Pam). If you searched Eric Northman sexy calendar back in the day, you’d get Alexander Skarsgård’s head photoshopped onto man’s naked torso in bed grinning at the camera. I can imagine Alexander (and maybe HBO) wanted replace that image with his own naked body that he worked hard for.

Lisa Elizabeth

No one will save us…except Daddy Alcide because he’s been in love with Sookie since the minute he laid eyes on her! Also, my Latin’s not great anymore (took Latin in high school) but the spell Antonia casts ends in “Obey me. Serve.”

Jbug

I hope sookie learns to use her powers. Like girl it's been a minute you should be able to use it more often.. loved this episode. Been a fantastic season 😀

gloomygraveyardgirl

That fakout with Hoyt dying is so good, your reaction was so funny! (i personally wished that had actually happened but i am a Hoyt hater till the day i die so)

Violeta

I agree. I guess it's not completely Jason's fault bc he had her blood and it's influencing how he feels (another one of several reasons why this relationship is problematic), but I still hate that the writers went there at all.

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

“All it takes is a weekend” at 29:26 about Sookie falling in love with Eric right after Bill, cracked me up! 🤣🤣🤣

❣️ Vladlena ❣️

“Daddy” from Sergio when Alcide showed up to save Sookie was hilarious, but SO relatable! 😂🔥 And honestly, I can’t blame Debbie this season, because all her suspicions turned out to be justified, and Alcide lied to her about not having feelings for Sookie 😬
