Thank you for the support! You guys and grrls are awesome!

The thing I've recently discovered about drawing big dragon guys covered in scales is that it rapidly becomes tedious to draw a big dragon guy covered in scales, on account of all the scales. His face doesn't help either.

I already knew that, academically, but these pages have driven the point home. On top of that, I recently found some time to catch up on some comic reading - I've been supporting the Gold Digger "Colorize the first 100 black and white issues" kickstarters, and was reminded that I wasn't really taking advantage of the medium of comics fully. Good art (or as good as I can manage) is fine, but if good art is all a comic can offer, it's probably going to be a little boring. I love Joe Madureira's art, but... I don't care about the story in Ultimate Avengers at all. Battle Chasers better, but honestly, I think the art actually detracted from the few moments of levity in those books.

The ideal solution, IMO, is something like One Punch Man, equal parts fantastic and goofy art, and never takes itself so seriously that the humor is atonal. Obviously I'm a huge fan of Gold Digger and there are a jillion other examples, mostly in the manga genre.

So today we get... not quite Super Deformed dragon guy. I think proper SD is where the head is at nearly as big as the body. Also, I just like to occasionally take the time for a back and forth panel sequence, where you can see the gears turning in someone's head, and the page isn't 85% word bubble. Which I fully admit I am the poster child for that style of comic.

I might be autistic cus i thought her body language was just being smug lol. can't wait to see the horny lizard man stuck in an arm breaker

Eli Pomerantz

Actually, there’s something very Deux-like about the dragon man … maybe his chin & smile?

Brett Peirce

Yes, the bottom text looks like a caption for the penultimate panel, in case you were wondering Dave

Brett

Like the little smile on her face She’s definitely enjoying his confusion. And then Sydney derails his brain🤣

Sharien

i love sydney sydneying in that last panel - absolutely perfect XD

Sharien

well smug definitely is a part, but there is also a degree of sexual allure in her posture there - from the shown perspective its a little "curves forward" but yeah its definitely not super explicit - part of it is just well... maxima is stacked and athletic as hell, no matter how she stands...

Good Lord, I haven't thought about Gold Digger in at least a decade. And now the entire rabbit warren that is my brain has me thinking about Omaha and Albedo. Yes, I still have a crush on Erma Felna. Personally, I blame the Banana Splits for the entire Furry thing. Sid and Marty have much to answer for in our modern society.

Edward Lott

I love the Cuke machine in the background as well!

ruffus_java

Excellent title. Whether intentional or not, I very much appreciate the Monty Python "Confuse a Cat" reference/

LucasTheLost

Or maybe there's something Draconic about Deus?

LucasTheLost

I get the feeling he's about to "call their bluff" and then "regret" it.

LucasTheLost

That Cuke logo has a lot of "flared base" going on.

GameGod210

Been a while since I laughed this hard at a page. Well done xD

"Really....? Interesting..." So Max finds out she may be into Dragon Dudes, and he finds out he may be into FemDom? Definitely a day for new discoveries.

If you like alternating art styles, then you're gonna love watching (or reading) Dragon Half. It'll literally give you cognitive whiplash the first few times.

Otoger

i like it this way, it helps give it a great flow and more comic XD

Daikaiju

Enjoy, Cuca~Cola

At least he know the proper manner to seduce a Stygian.

eddi_TBH

After he and Cora lay down their bets.

All I can say is I was too young to know better. Although it wasn't until I started reading Omaha Cat Dancer that furries made my hormone percolate.

eddi_TBH

Or a tail knot.

eddi_TBH

The big eye panels are the cherry on this sundae.

Mathew Aaberg

Honestly I like it when the style goes Chibi, its both cute and an amazing visual "ba dum tis."

Kevin Wright

Really loving smug chibi Egoma.
