Thank you for the support! You guys and grrls are awesome!

You know... "RAR" If you know what I mean.

I don't, actually. I don't know why it's in quotes.

I know what you're all wondering. The symbol on her phone is an eggplant with a bite taken out of it. Admittedly the branding could be a little clearer.

I think Babezilla is clocking in at about 300 feet tall there? The building next to her isn't 2-story technically, but it's one of those businesses like an auto repair shop or your basic strip mall structure, so it's got a false ceiling with all the ductwork and cabling and some HVAC on the roof. So it's a little shorter than a 2 story house, cause houses have sloped roofs, but it's about the same height as two stories of an office building, if you ignore the bottom two floors which are usually a high-ceiling lobby and them a mezzanine level. Anyway, that comes up to her ankle, so my back of the napkin my brain calculation puts her at about 300 feet.

Babezilla is 5'5" normally, so 300 feet means she's 55x larger, and assuming she starts off at 100 pounds (for easy math,) she's clocking in at about 8,500 tons now, according to a square cube calculator I found. That's why the street is cratering under her. The storm drains no likey.

Of course, being 55x larger means the 5,000 mile swim to Senegal (assuming she starts from Galveston) would still be a 90 mile swim for her. She may not have fully realized that. It would be a pretty stupid way to die, getting 3 or 400 miles out and realizing how badly she'd underestimated the distances. Even if she hadn't gotten past the continental shelf, the water there can be 350-600 feet deep. Though I guess if she started from Galveston, she'd be basically in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico and could angle toward an oil derrick. There's a lot of them out there. It's not like she's stuck at 300 feet tall. She could swim up and be all, "Gosh guys, do you have a helicopter to spare? I think I'm lost."

"RAR": because her hoodie doesn't have a ZIP…

TrixieTurner

Alright now this girl is downright adorable, love the little kitty face she does. The is a treat to have in the story, makes this arc worth it.

B. P.

Now I wonder how her introduction to Maxima is going to go; A quick punch to her jaw and an even quicker imbedding (imbedment?) into the nearest hill/mountain or a show of overwhelming firepower and subsequent shrinking of courage and body.

Cha0sniper

Oh no...... She's cute.

Mathew Aaberg

Well given Max has 30 seconds, it will be sonic boom, splat sonic boom.

Nathaniel Morse

I see Hiro is in the process of destroying another shirt in the line of duty.

Madcat6204

So she's only about 4 times what Stalwart weighed when he stepped on Vehemence's foot many moons ago? Shouldn't be a problem for Max then.

Michael Obert

There, there, Math, she made the choice to wear a skirt so you can still look up it at that angle. I love that in all the superhero stuff I read, influencers and social media mavens end up on the villain side of things LOL.

Tristan N Milner

The real question is who made that phone for her?

Nematrec

Speed, especially in water, doesn't increase linearly with size. To swim across in 1 hour would still be 5,000 miles per hour, which is faster than the speed of sound (in air). 6 times faster in fact If it took 8 hours of swimming it'd still be 625 miles per hour, the top speed for some jet liners.

Ludu

As usual, Math is the wisest of them all

Carlton R. Harris

“Gulf of AMERICA,” Dave. Don’t forget to remember! 🤣

Spike

RAR because 'scene girls' used to say "RAWR! means I love you in Dinosaur." But since she grows and then shrinks again / is a huge thing in a small package, she spelled it like WinRAR. It's really clever!

Killianti

Alright nerds, what about her phone wouldn't work at that size? I think the antenna would still work at the normal frequencies, but it might pick up more noise. As usual with size manipulation, acoustics get wonky. The microphone probably wouldn't have the same frequency response. I think the clock speeds can be hand-waved away as being taken care of by her powers because the clocks work entirely inside the phone. I think the camera sensors would still work fine. I can't decide if GPS would break. I think it would still receive all of the signals from satellites, but the time stamps might be far enough off to break it. I don't know, processing times after receiving the signals can be hand-waved with her powers again, so maybe it would still work. The accelerometer readings might be scaled with her size, but I think it would still work.

Stephen Gilberg

Not to be confused with Babszilla, from a brief imagination sequence on "Tiny Toon Adventures."

Thisguy

What, Archon don’t have a giant mech yet? Slackers.

Hugh Eckert

"What cruel deity do you worship?" made me laugh out loud.

Czarzhan

Unless she's using something else to enhance her personal structural integrity, she should weigh substantially more than 8500 tons to account for the increased muscle and bone density. Because human-density bones, at that scale/weight, will buckle faster than the concrete beneath her feet. Grow super big and become Giant Mister Glass.

Aclys

What's more interesting to me is that phone somehow still works... As in its able to do a stream and such... cause the electronics in that thing that lets it reach out and touch people online should NOT continue to function as designed when increased in size by a few thousand %. I'll chalk that up to superpowers though. As for stopping the big boob, why not simply use electric powers or get some water to funk up that phone and cancel the stream? Maybe use giant paint ball rounds to give her a clown facial and make her look silly? Hell just toss Vehemence at the girl and you'll have a nice kaiju brawl before long.

Ebonbolt

I mean,… aren't they?

Ebonbolt

Hiro should look into an endorsement deal with Hanes (or whatever fits). He gets an endless supply of shirts, they get to say their shirts are sacrificed for the safety of the country (they could even research more durable shirt materials to market to the general public).

Orlet Soir

Also important to note that her own voice would've changed significantly, due to the significant change in length of vocal cords (= deeper voice) and general change of acoustics in her throat and mouth. It could be that she'd go near infrasonic with this change in size (if considering that change in resonant frequency is inverse proportional to change in length, 55× is almost 6 full octaves).

Some Ed

If we're handwaving anything on the phone, we're handwaving everything on the phone, and it all works. If we're not handwaving everything on the phone, my gut feeling is it entirely fails, but I do not know what exactly would cause that failure. I think it would probably be something about the battery and the power it consumes, because that stuff scales weirdly. The battery wouldn't have 170k times the total power stored, even though it would have 170k times the volume, because they don't scale like that. However, on the draw side of things, we're not *wanting* 170k times the power, and probably wouldn't be able to handle it. But I think we also wouldn't be able to handle the amount of power we get, as I think the power needs and power tolerance scale less quickly than the battery power.

Killianti

It's easy to suspend disbelief if her powers just make the phone keep working, but it's harder to suspend disbelief if there's a problem with the phone's interaction with things that haven't been touched by her powers like the cell towers, GPS satellites, and the air and radiation around it.

Anton Schleef

Yeah, the leaves on that eggplant aren't very well defined. I can see how people mistook it for something less wholesome, even with a bite missing out of it.

Eric Loken

I think a gold (and purple, and black, and...) streak doing multiples of the speed of sound is about to hit this silly tit in the side of her head. The idiot had better hope that knocks her out because Max doesn't have time to be nice about this, so pretty much Max's only next move would be to put an energy bolt through ijit's head so she can go back to the fight before she forfeits.

Some Ed

@Ebonbolt: Underarmor has a more suitable brand name. I am not sure they would want everyone to see how much they fail to live up to the second half of their name, however. To be fair, as underwear goes, their stuff seems relatively durable. I first encountered that brand through their sports bras. As my ex was a 32G at the time, the load they had to deal with was considerably above average, and they handled it well. Of course, so does their competition that chooses to do business at that scale. Companies that do not simply do not fair that well in that market. That said, Hiro puts far more stress on his clothing than anything my ex could survive. Her super power is being able to get significant orthopedic injuries while doing basically nothing, so she's really never been up for the kind of active lifestyle Hiro has.

Some Ed

Unfortunately, those are Halo-suggested tactics. Except the last one; we do not want to power Kevin up on Earth like that. He doesn't have the judgement for it.

Some Ed

I'm pretty sure she has no real concept for the size of the earth. Note Dave's author comment indicates attempting to swim across the pond would not go well for her, because it's much bigger than she thinks it is.

Some Ed

The comic established long ago that super powers do not conform to physics very well. That said, my math says the only way she would way about 8500 tons is if she started at 100 pounds, and she looks like she probably would have weighed over 100 pounds, even without the tail. 5'5" and 100 pounds is very skinny.

Tristan N Milner

Should known. He does like to be known for being large and girthy.

Playwars

Math out there living his best life XD. What happened to 'I like my women statuesque, but this is ridiculous' XD ? I'd say this might have awakened something in him, but let's be real, it's Math.

Aclys

I guess, you'd think the others would start pondering slightly more creative ideas than "just keep hitting the giant invulnerable woman in the shins" as it becomes increasingly clear that this is not working. As for Kevin I thought he was doing rather well on the rehabilitation, doing full combat spars with the team and all that. Sure letting him get strong enough to contest Kaiju Gal here is a bit of a risk but if they're that afraid he's gonna go back to being a villain when being a hero lets him have fights like THAT without risk of getting Maxima'd. . . I mean they might as well just ship him off-world at that point and be done with it.

eddi_TBH

"They say she's got to go. Go go Babezilla!" Looks like so far she just a nuisance.

Lee T Boswell

Carhart might also be willing to make that deal. They are already making sturdy shirts and pants, so might see how they hold up. If they did, the ladies might find some consternation in the matter.

David Rush

I too was kinda thinking the battery/electrical system would give. Presumably the amount of electricity stored in the phone stays constant even though the matter is scaled up, which means one phone charge is now trying to power a transmitter about the size of an SUV

James C

You're looking at it from the wrong angle: they probably have enough of an issue with Hiro and Math being on the team already. If they throw Kevin at Babezilla so that he grows to a corresponding size, then female supers are basically going to see "if you go villain, they'll delivery you a perfectly matched shirtless muscle-man to 'grapple' with…" Crime will go through the roof!

MD

selfishly want a lot more of this bad girl of the week
