Thank you so much for the support! You guys and grrls are awesome!

I enjoy characters with emotive ears. Don't be surprised if Sydney gets turned into a werefox at some point.

Okay, I probably won't do that... Not permanently anyway.

It's hard to get on the "secret" list once you're on the usual list, but it's possible, and nearly inevitable to be on both the secret and regular list at the same time. It's about the order in which you are listed.

I don't know if Sydney would have an extensive Celebrity Hall Pass list. She's not above a little ogling and giggling with her friends over a cute boy, but she's rarely overtly sexual. Most of her celebrity crushes are age inappropriate, but that's because most of the media she consumed as a girl starred middle-aged actors. Her first exposure to Jerard Butler was formative. She enjoyed Tom Baker's Doctor, but she was young enough when she was first exposed to Dr. Who that her fantasies just involved her being a companion and having space and time adventures. Guys that are 20+ years her senior.

That's the range most of her list falls in, and if she ever met any of them IRL, she'd hopefully realize how much older most of them are, and would revise her list. Given that she has a comic shop with the clout to attract industry luminaries, it's actually possible she'll get to meet quite a few actors.

Sydney cannot act in an un-Sydney-like fashion...

Randy Kittelson

thoughts are thoughting this morning. Sydney is probably on some celebrity hall pass lists by now.

Magraal

Mushoku Tensei did a wonderful job with the emotive ears this season.

Michael Obert

It's like the Blacklist, but with less James Spader (and, as such, less awesomeness, sorry Sydney)

Rhitta

Could have her be temporarily possessed by the spirit of a Kitsune or something like that. Give her spectral fox ears. Like a kitsune temporarily needs a host because her body got destroyed and somehow ends up shacking up with Sydney.

You_With_The_Face

Sydney rolled a 4 on Deception, but Lorlara rolled a 1 on Performance; Sydney should be fine.

He Who Must Drink Some Coffee

I tried, but "tilting for a jilting" is the best I could come up with. I'm certain "listing for a fisting" is not a good option, although Sydney might just think it means "on the list to get punched". You never know when her incredible naiveté will intersect with her dangerous savvy.

Phoenix

you are "risking a listing sir!" seems appropriately rhymey, if not alliterative.

John

I will point out that Deus is _intimately_ familiar with Max's power set, and when he sees her in the contest...

Brett Peirce

If I had a nickel for every time Sydney was possessed by a space-spirit who's body was no longer accessible, I'd have one nickel so far. With your suggestion it would be two, which isn't all that many, but I think it's much higher than any OTHER main cast characters... 🤔

Brett Peirce

I think you mean consonance? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Or consonant, if you want to use it as an adjective like you did with "alliterative")

Michael Obert

Better than "fisting for a listing" 🤣

He Who Must Drink Some Coffee

The bit about age gaps brings up the question: How old exactly is Frix? He always seemed to me like he was somewhere between mid-30s and maybe early 40s. I mean, he has this extensive skill set, he's an experienced galactic traveler, he's worldly in ways I don't associate with someone in their early 20s i.e. Sydney's age. I realize he's of a different species that maybe ages differently, so maybe he's the same age chronologically as Sydney but more mature. Or maybe it's the product of growing up in a world where space travel and thousands of different species and cultures are just accepted as a commonplace thing. But I have always pegged Frix as the older guy in a relationship with a younger woman. Maybe it's just self-insert fantasy on my part- my last gf was almost 10 years younger and I guess I have a history of younger women, and I'm going to stop talking now.....

Ebonbolt

It seems you have remembered: It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. Or to paraphrase: Knowing when to shut up is the first step on the path to wisdom.

He Who Must Drink Some Coffee

As the Eddas tell us: wise is he who knows when to speak; wiser still is he who knows when to stay silent.

Ebonbolt

Misting? Encysting? Insisting? OK, the last one would make sense in certain circumstances (Deus *definitely* would), but this is Sydney, so that's right out (because making sense only works for Sydney as a surprise nonsequitur).

Shade Jones

The good list isn't secret! She put Leon on it in front of him

Playwars

Honestly, I am 100% for Sydney getting cute, expressive ears on a more permanent basis, because I LOVE her Mantellan disguise. She's so cute !

Playwars

Also, isn't the 'secret' good list when she flips the List ? I remember it from way back when she first met Leon.

Phoenix

Rhymey- an informal or colloquial adjective that describes something as rhyming. Seems fitting enough? :) Did learn a new word though, consonance, so that was a treat!

Nathan Wilson

For one, it's already hinted he probably knows who she is. For two, Max was aware she could be figured out, and that's why she's been careful to not emit any energy blasts, and just stick to the flying brick powers in most comic media (Flight, invulnerability, speed, super strength)

Nathan Wilson

That's... True. She wouldn't be on my list, but she's short, and that's huge for a bunch of guys, especially who'd be just barely taller than her.

eddi_TBH

"pat, Pat, PAT, punch."

eddi_TBH

And knowing that, meeting a hyper alien type in the skybox area who goes spazzy looking at his shoes, means Sydney blew her cover clean to Andromeda

Gelatinous Cube

Your first Doctor is always YOUR Doctor Who. For me, it was Tom Baker. He will always be The Doctor to me. Not saying the rest aren't good. Just that your first Doctor is always special. Ok, that sounded better in my head than on screen. But I stand by it, dammit!
