Thank you so much for the support! You guys and grrls are awesome!

What is the funniest condiment? Originally, Cthillia demanded spicy mustard, but I capriciously changed it before posting. I do think both options are good on tempura... well, I don't know about ratballs, but generally spicy mustard and yum yum sauce go well with most fried things. Ponzu sauce too. BTW, "ratballs" are not clumps of rat testicles or testicles from giant rats. It's a rat, crushed into a ball, and batter fried. I don't know where the extra bones come from.

Anyway, I don't know if "Magic Shell" ice cream topping counts as a proper condiment, but I guess that'd be amusing to put on any random food item. Likewise, I don't think candy sprinkles are proper condiments either. I think a condiment pretty much needs to be a sauce? Chutney is a funny sounding word. So is Tahini, but I think they'd both be perfectly acceptable for a fried crunchy meat surprise. Chimichurri is also a funny sounding word, but it's also delicious. I dunno, maybe for a funny condiment, you'd have to veer into the unexpected, like if she wanted grape jelly for her ratballs. Or grape jelly and yellow mustard, which sounds foul, but actually, if you put equal parts jelly and mustard in a crock pot and dump in a bunch of meatballs, you've basically got a pot of sweet and sour meatballs. That used to be my go to for office pot lucks.

Is Deus kind-of-maybe hitting on Cthillia in a childish bid to make Sciona jealous? I have no idea, actually. I think he's just being gregarious and obnoxious. He'd call it "chummy," especially if he was kind-of-maybe hitting on a shark woman with a bucket of fish guts. See? Cause... the fish bucket... >cough<

As for why he's got a box next to Cora's suite? He knows Dabbler and knows she's old friends with Cora, so maybe he found out that she was getting a suite and booked the one next to hers for... reasons? Probably to hit on Cora, if the opportunity arose, if I'm honest. He is definitely aware that Cora's ship was conspicuously not reported as having left Earth, and Earth in the world of Grrl Power is still fairly excited about the revelation of aliens and the one spaceship full of sexy aliens that hangs out with the still newly revealed sexy superheroes, so there's more than a little media attention on the comings and goings of Cora's ship. Which I think I named "The Interdictor," which is not especially memorable or creative, IMO. Maybe I'll say it's a heavily modified Interdictor class ship if it comes up again. I don't recall if the name even appeared in the comic or just in my post below some page.

It would be weird dating a guy who could palm both of your butt-cheeks at once. I... assume. I have no perspective on that. Actually I probably drew Harem's butt too small there in panel 2 and 4. It's one of those things that looks okay from this exact angle, but if I had to animate it in a 3D fly around it'd probably be all kinds of messed up. I think I underemphasize hips on women, which I've been trying to correct - where appropriate. Especially fit women tend to have smaller looking hips because they have less padding to smooth out their curves, and I mostly draw fit women or beanpoles. I think I draw butts too small too, generally. Max is supposed to have one of those "a little too much time on the stairclimber" butts, AKA a conspicuous, but very fit butt. Granted I usually draw her wearing non-skintight paramilitary style pants, but of course Ixah has no excuse.

Deus is hard to figure...

Thomas Dorner

Deus, yes, now that's a real super intelligence. I look at you, you opportunistic tech-bros!

Teksura

"The Interdictor" almost sounds like an in joke because if you're drunk enough or if you're just trying to mess with a space port, your ship might sound to them like you're announcing the arrival of "The Into Dick Tour", which might just be a pretty common name for a succubus to give their ship so maybe it wouldn't be very successful at messing with them if they just hear that and assume it must be a succubus ship. At which point the messing with them is just revealing that it's not a ship full of succubi and they're probably going to be left with blue balls, which while natural for a lot of species, isn't doing them any favors.

Sharien

awwww shes an adorable eldritch lady^^

Michael Obert

It's cute how they think they figure into why he's there.

Varyon

Interdictor has appeared as the ship's name at least once in the comic itself, when the Fel carrier attacked. Looking back, it's page 765, where Cora says "We need to do this quick before the Intedictor's shield's fail or your people get..." Of course, if that's the only place and you want to change it, you could always go back and change that word bubble - plus you could fix that "shield's" error as well (it should just be shields, no apostrophe).

James C

Deus has seen what Sciona did with the dagger, and he knows that Cthilla is planning to use it too. He's clearly just laying groundwork plenty in advance, and hoping for a "bountiful" payoff…

James C

I was thinking more that it's Cora and crew aboard the good ship" In-t'-dick-her"

Raymond Dannelly

I'm inclined to call sliced onions and sliced pickles 'condiments', as they're what I'd expect on a condiments table at a burger place.

Ludu

And the next pin-up will be.... "eye catching."

He Who Must Drink Some Coffee

I just found it interesting that Harem is lounging in the standard "I'm a naughty girl and I need a spanking" position. I was a tiny bit disappointed that her pose didn't result in at least an ass smack by the end of the strip. She's definitely the kind of girl who will make a snarky comment just to get a spank. "And after the spanking, the oral sex!"

AceOfDiamond

I got the impression Deus might be hitting on Cthillia, but presumed it would be because his taste are broader than "superheroic/model built". Maybe he's just curious to learn more about Cthillia, including the more intimate things that can be learned?

He Who Must Drink Some Coffee

Wasn't the Interdictoor class a thing in Star Wars? I'm not that familiar with all the expanded universe and animated series stuff. I'm a snob in that if it's not in the form of live action and preferably a big screen movie, I don't think it counts. Especially after they brought back (I hate even referring to this)- Darth Maul. Like, couldn't they come up with a new character? Because I don't care how powerful your hate is, NOBODY SURVIVES GETTING CUT IN HALF. And then falling down a 200 foot trench thing. Sorry for the all caps rant, but it needs to be said.

Magraal

You just reminded me of the classic Dickens' Cider ads...

John C Butler

Yeah, Interdictor cruisers looked like half size Star Destroyers with four spheres in the hull. The spheres were gravity generators. The idea behind them was to park one along known hyperspace routes, spin up the gravity generators and force ships to drop out of hyperspace when they hit the gravity well.

Brett Peirce

Extra bones? Like they added bones? Huh... I guess they have bones left over from the de-boned ones, so yeah I guess that makes sense as an offering if there's a market! And I'm honored to know there's someone else out there that knows the STRANGE deliciousness of grape jelly and yellow mustard. Tell me, did you happen upon it by yourself or find a recipe that suggested it?

Brett Peirce

Ten years ago? I thought it was a few months back, comic time? Are we playing loosey goosey with time? I mean... It happened while Sydney was with Arc Swat, right? Has she been with them for ten years now?

Brett Peirce

Pretty sure Occam would agree it makes sense

IHazNoFace

I’m assuming that the rat they fried is a particular species of rat commonly known as a spine rat. They are well known for their unique pattern of spines along their body and are more nutritious than earth rats. Fun fact, the bony spines on their bodies are not actually bone but space keratin.

Anton Schleef

I don't mind the pre-Disney expanded universe content, but that's because George Lucas required that all official commercial Star Wars products had to exist in a singular continuity. That's also why there are something like 40 different models of both TIE fighters and X-Wings, because of an author wanting it to do something that it had been previously stated it couldn't so they had to explain _why_ it could do that. It probably started to make things difficult on the various authors after a while because of needing to keep track of those kinds of "hard fact" details (George Lucas would let different characters have different perceptions and impressions of events, just like how different eye witnesses can give drastically different testimonies despite both witnessing the same event). As for Disney bringing back Darth Maul............it's Disney now and they've repeatedly proven their inability to maintain a singular continuity with their original IPs, why should anyone expect better of an IP they acquire?

Anton Schleef

I doubt it. This is a fairly significant event, and Deus has a tendency to want to do certain types of things in person, especially if there may be some useful (or so he thinks) networking to be done there. Sure, there was an earlier strip where we're absolutely certain that he figured out Ixah's real identity, but that doesn't mean that he was there because of anyone else on Ixah's little adventure, or that he'd even taken note of them possibly being gone from Terra or the Sol System. Basically, it requires a few too many assumptions for it to pass the Occam's Razor test. At least, at this point. Knowing Dave, in the next few strips Deus will do something to tip things sufficiently to pass the Occam's Razor test. EDIT: typo

Anton Schleef

I don't have any complaints about how you do women's butts, but I also prefer a tighter, more athletic gal in the first place. I'm also not a die-hard 'good birthing hips' fan either; so, really, you've got a double win from me.

eddi_TBH

Deus uses Bribery. It's super effective.

eddi_TBH

He enjoys challenges. From getting Cthillia to unmask to ruling the world without starting a major war.

eddi_TBH

Anything one puts on things, from sauces to toppings, can be loosely considered a condiment. All are meant to add extra flavor to the dish.

eddi_TBH

Translation flaw. It happens.

eddi_TBH

Cthillia is not that terrifying looking. She is just used to hiding her alien nature on Earth because she's not supposed to be there.

eddi_TBH

Real comic production time as opposed to internal comic timeline.

Steve Brinich

Deus has been de facto ruler of Galytn for a decade when Sydney was recruited (p386: "...in a decade I've taken their GDP from 168th to 109..."). It occurs to me that the new nominal king hasn't been seen even at ceremonial events like the medal presentation after Darude's attack -- either Junior doesn't want to be bothered or he did something that made Deus decide that he needed to follow in his father's footsteps.

Orchidseed

The first use of the name "Interdictor" is in comic #701, when Cora welcomes Sydney on board: "Welcome aboard the Interdictor". This points to it being the name of the ship, not the name of a class of ship. Otherwise she would have said: Welcome aboard my Interdictor.

Erin Palette

"Interdictor? I hardly knew her!"
