Thank you for the support! You guys are awesome!

Shén wèi (according to google translate) means "divine guardian" or really "divine guard" because "divine guardian" actually translates to "Shénshèng shǒuhù zhě" which isn't nearly as pithy sounding. I don't know anything about Chinese, but it seems weird that changing "guard" to "guardian" so radically changes the translation. Maybe google thought I meant "a person in charge of a minor's welfare" and not "an actual guard (but 'guardian' sounds cooler so let's say that instead.)"

Not sure what else to say about this page, other than if you're a general purpose adventurer, an AOE "fuck off" attack is critical. Being the best swordsman doesn't help with swarms of bees or clouds of acid. If you don't have a "Respect my Personal Space" move, you're gonna get fucked one day. Telekinesis is one of those overly powerful powers, almost like super speed, but with TK it depends heavily on the rules of the ability. A lot of TKers can't lift themselves, or will often struggle with lifting heavy objects or coordinating multiple things at a time. But if you have the Industrial Strength version of the power, then you've got pushing, pulling, lifting, flying, force fields, control over air pressure, "fuck off" blasts, kinetic blasts, dancing swords, etc. You'd never need a toolbox in your trunk because you can just make a screwdriver that matches any screw no matter how insane the manufacturer designs them. You'd never need a hammer, drill, a belt knife. Heck, you could just skin and field dress a deer (or a human) at 50 paces if you had enough precision and sharp edges in your TK.

Maybe because Divine Guardian is a title often given the the Heavenly spirits (Shen) that guard the 4 directions? The Black Turtle-Snake Xuan Wu, Lord of the Northern Heavens, Element water, The Greater Yin. Bai Hu(?) The White Tiger, lord of the Western Heavens, Element Metal, The Greater Yang. The Phoenix/Vermilion Bird, Fenghuang/Zhu Que, Lord/Lady of the Southern Heavens, Element Fire, The lesser Yang. The Azure Dragon, Qing Long, Lord of the Eastern Heavens, Element Wood (With water overtones), The Lesser Yin.

Shèng bǎobiāo? It can be helpful to know more about how stuff translated to press the little button with arrows going either direction that is above and between the boxes on google translate, so you know how the other language translates back to English. That said, I'm not sure exactly how 'god guard' differs from 'divine guard' or 'divine bodyguard' or whatever. I'm also not really a master of pith in any language, so maybe my suggestion is also less than awesome.

Thank you. Omnikinesis has always been my superpower of choice.

I can't tell for sure if the sneaky one actually hit skin. But it looks like a no go. Between the cloak and a light force field, I don't think he's going down that easy.

eddi_TBH

I spotted the Invisible Needler. He's the "CRUNCH" on the far wall.

Town Crier

Through the hood? One is making an assumption that it is a simple cloak, and not armored or protected in any way; plus, telekinetic armor is always a must for a TK jockey.

Andrew

A tip (advice) for a tip (finger). Sounds fair.

BJ

A wizard cannot perform somatic components if their hand is telekinesised.

My own theory is that the injection penetrated and TK Cloak Guy grabbed the sedative inside his arteries/veins and is going to push it out of himself. He may rip it out if he's confident he can hold his blood in, or try to use the needle holes. This would of course required a disturbing (in an enemy) level if control.

Tim Malmström

Ah yes, the classic response (or at least, the *effective* classic response) to being attacked by an invisible enemy; HIT EVERYWHERE AT ONCE!!!

Andrew Lopez

Now I'm really interested in the fallout of this. Sedative and a missing fingertip is going to mess with our least favorite psyker.

Telekinesis is one of the most dangerous of powers. Diane Castle gives her fanfic heroine, Terawatt, only about 250 lbs of force for her TK, yet she uses it to make herself bulletproof, and discovers how little force it requires to clamp human carotid arteries closed...

akrasia

"No, but telekinesis can AFFECT the guy holding the control doodad".

Jared Juetten

Yeah, TK (or PK - PsychoKinesis as it really should be) is a HUGELY underrated power. I absolutely adore the version of it in the movie "Chronicle" because it shows a lot of interesting uses for it, how a version of it could grow in power, and the differing personal talent of users. MaxBigfoot - I didn't know about that series. I'm sure that's a great one to read! 250lbs is quite a lot. You can restrain most any human PLUS do cool things such as what you stated.

If it's like Japanese, context is extremely important. Japanese can and does leave out whole words in sentences that you are supposed to infer (I may be explaining it poorly as my understanding of Japanese is rudimentary at best). "if you're a general purpose adventurer, an AOE "fuck off" attack is critical." Mass Effect, the Vanguards Biotic Power Nova was a LOT of fun. That was exactly what it was; All of you crowding my personal space, FUCK OFF!
