Thank you for the support! You guys are awesome!

Sydney did react poorly to her first demon, but she's been remarkably nonchalant about meeting para, meta, and otherwise extra-humans since then. Well, that or overeager to the point of passing out.

I've often wondered about how meeting an actual non-human sapience would go for most people. I mean, assuming you were at a party or something, and a friend introduced you to a being that was definitely not human, and not a situation where it was stalking you through the woods or invading after destroying a number of famous landmarks or anything. Of course there would be a lot of people who would freak out no matter the circumstances, but honestly, I feel like movie FX and CG have gotten to the point where we could largely skip over the adjustment period. Like most of us are kind of used to seeing weird stuff like that by now. Obviously if it was right in front of you, that's very different than seeing something on a screen, but I still think some of us would be quicker to get to the "this almost seems mundane" stage than we might have been 30 or 40 years ago.

That all goes out the window if the thing we're introduced to triggers some sort of fear response, like it features a lot of exposed vertebrae and ribs, or has a heavy spider vibe or looks overly fungal or is otherwise seemingly designed to hunt us. I'm talking about aliens/monsters that are "spitting distance from humanity" but are more than some pointy ears and a prosthetic forehead. Think Garrus or the Hellboy 2 Troll Market or The Creature Cantina.

Anyway. By the time Frix returns to Earth, everyone he meets is going to be like "Hey I hear you have a huge crank." (alternative vaguely relevant image)

Not sure which is better, her expression learning that she's globally famous, or her tongue hanging out.

Martin Drkoš

Is she indicating the length or the girth?

I think our best shot at meeting a non human intelligence is AI. Which is a product of humans and learns from humans so it bound to be not so different at first.

On the point of meeting other species. How vaguely humanoid will be oddly important. Certain traits could trigger am uncanny valley type response. First one that comes to mind is different number of digits if they try to adopt hand shaking. Or, a different configuration of finger joints.

Meeting a non human sapient? I mean, I've been on twitter, I'm pretty sure 50% of those folks count?

In a safe setting? Where we know it's an inhuman critter and we're actively being introduced to it? I don't think it'd be too panic inducing for most people. Presumably if it's done in that nonchalantly a manner we'd be aware of their existence even if we'd never seen one before, but even if we hadn't I think more people would be curious than afraid. A lot of the horror of monster movies and such come from the situation - it's that you ARE walking through the woods, you're all alone, and your cellphone is dead, when out of the corner of your eye you spot them. (Shia LaBeouf.) If you see one surrounded by people who don't seem to care in a friend's house and they actively introduce you..? Not so much. Like imagine the wompa scene in episode 5 - it's a scary thing because it's threatening, but if it were sipping an iced tea in the Mos Eisley Cantina it'd just be another alien.

Oh, describing your Wolfman's boyfriend's wang instead of putting out dangerous fires is tight!

I feel like we missed a potential joke here: 1) Cthillia points and yells fire 2) Sydney grabs PewPew Orb 3) Hilarity Ensues. It's entirely possible that Dave considered it, and cut it for production reasons.

Did NOT see Syd as a size queen.*sigh* Everyone has their kinks, I guess.

akrasia

Don't have to be a size queen to appreciate it. I have seen no evidence that suggests she would reject romance based on it.

codesurfer

Please everyone go grab a yardstick and look at how long a third of that is. especially given how Sydney is only 5' and some change

Brett

Thats why she got the potion from Dabbler, While not as endowed as is commonly shown in porn, In my experience most females need some training to handle anything over average without discomfort or potential damage. So that makes Frix a considerate and forward thinking individual.

Zip Zop

particularly good faces from Sydney today

Alessandro

I think the likely Star Trek reference with the forehead and ears didn't go well when linking, that's just some music.

Hanna

I wonder what Cthillia is like under the hood. Maybe something along the line of the gorgons, although she does eye rays and not the view-to-a-statue thing? But she is almost there with the epimorph, so we probably get to see only the new look.

BJ

Poor Cthillia, stuck with Sydney wrangling duty.

martin leske

dont lizards have twice the fun?

eddi_TBH

Sydney is a people person who has lately developed a rally broad definition of "people".
