Srscricket

i want to be a rhythm guitarist in a band, some info to help me with that would be nice

DrReiCow

The outro solo to Pink Floyd's "Pigs (Three Different Ones)!!" Moo!

Dave

Unkie Ben, writing hooks has always sucked for me. Any tips. Ur pal, Dave

Norman Burt

How about the clean intro to Answers by Vai? Everyone on Youtube either skips playing the clean part or if they play it it sounds sloppy.

Can't_StartA_Fire

How to set up for a bar gig. How to get good sound live. And keep doing all the cool stuff you’re already doing!! Btw, that satch boogie/zz top bit kicked ass.

gruzdev

Dokken - standing in the shadows solo

Pierre Emmanuel RICHET

Something about left hand fingering strategies with two and three notes per strings (or a mix of the two). I juste dived into Troy Grady’s ascending fours puzzle and the different ways to approach the problem are fascinating... but I keep tripping on my own fingers ! You could leave out the right hand techniques, as Troy and yourself have already explained it quite well ?

Johan Vängbo

You have sick rhythm chops. I would love to see more on how to develop your relaxed thrash rhythm playing and getting it up to 200 bpm levels.

Ben Barnett

How about breaking out of scales. I m getting into lead playing but have been concentrating on scales but now I feel I'm stuck in a rut? Struggling to move around the fretboard? Any ideas accepted!

Chris

Learning something about learning would be great. E.g. watch you learn a song or a rifff. Do you start with the easiest bit? The hardest bit? How slow do you slow it down. Etc. etc. I constantly have the feeling I'm being too impatient. Or maybe I'm not?

Matthew Wright

Not sure if you're covered it before but...proper pick usage. One of your recent videos sent me to Breaking the Code in which I learned I was using the trailing edge of my pick when playing quickly instead of the leading edge. This has completely crushed me to learn I've been using the wrong side of the pick for decades. I am a broken man. Help me Uncle Ben Kenobi

Ben Zimmerman

The correct way to play “Perpetual Burn”!!!!!!

Scott Kaye

I would like to see how to develop more alternate picking speed while maintaining the correct pick slanting either upward, downward, or two way without having to THINK. I want to make sure I'm practicing to develop this efficiently but most importantly staying clean.

Joshua Eredics

If you could do all of Mr. Scary that would be so sick

Matthew Roohr

“Things Dimebag Did” please!

Chris Swartz

3 Octave Hexatonic scale patterns in the Major and Minor modes please!

evolutionary autocannibal

I'll devour much Opeth stuff as you care to deliver. I'm sure I'm not alone there. Personally, if you ever got around to doing any of the Morningrise songs, like, say, pieces of Advent, Black Rose Immortal, or The Night and the Silent Water, that'd just be too cool. Also: I don't know if this idea fits the particular formula of WW per se, but I'd love to hear more about your general philosophical approach toward learning guitar. Sure, it really does leak through in your humor in general delivery, but I'd be fascinated to hear more about where you found the confidence and discipline to achieve such a virtuosic command over your instrument. Still eagerly awaiting the next TIWYSAG, by the way- so, so glad to hear about its return. Scales are among the most important areas of focus for me right now... I figure they're basically a pretty indispensable thing to master for almost any player. Thanks, Uncle Ben. You take good care of yourself, now!

Malcolm Mason

Legato patterns and how to effectively practice them. Single string legato patterns for movement up and down and improve fretboard knowledge

John Stillwell

Cross picking/ alternate picking exercises.

Mark Taronas

How to determine what effects and amp settings were used on a song

Anthony R Padilla

Hair metal! Seventeen, Cum on Feel the Noize, DOKKEN! Or full blown Lucretia solo tabs. I was waiting for Little Fighter and Under a Glass Moon lessons, then I got the courage to try them myself. Took a ton of practice, but they both helped my playing.

Tom Byrnes

I love all your stuff uncle Ben but I wouldn’t mind seeing something like your doobie brothers or steely dan videos. I learned so many chords I never knew about before. Loved those videos. Thanks uncle Ben, you the man!

Peter Rappos

Maybe a little off your normal vid topics but what about something on explaining amp tone and how to get it. Or a spicy Penne recipe.

Ralyks

Using Jazz/Extended chords in a Rock/Metal setting, some more 7 string stuff, and.... S/t Mr. Bungle stuff. That last one is random, but I've been listening to the crap out of that album for the first time in years, and now really noticed how is the wall amazing the musicianship is, and really appreciate Treys guitar playing.

Yes, 7 (and 8) String stuff! So little tuition for extended range guitars around.

Icenic Wolf (Jeff H.)

I'd love exercises or a song/riff that helps you get accurate bends while in the context of playing a lead lick (not just practicing a bend all by itself, which is way easier). e.g. the intro to Pete Thorn's Monster Movie, or any other similar inspired-by-blues-and-also-EVH rock riff.

CC

So glad to hear about the return of this is why you suck at guitar....that episode on vibrato was a HUGE help for me and what first hooked me on your channel. As for future Wankshops top of my list would be if you would hit some of the older Queensryche riffs/solos like Eyes of a Stranger as nobody ever hits up riffs and solos from Mindcrime or earlier albums by the band. As for hair bands would love to see some L.A. Guns riffs and leads, such a great band! Your Opeth Windowpane lesson left me floored and I became an instant fan, so more stuff in that style would be cool. One other thing I never see people teach is Reverend Horton Heat licks and solos (not sure if that is in your guitarsenal or not but I would love some lessons on that!). The next time you are feeling the EVH, maybe consider the song 5150? Such a great guitar song. I know my suggestions were all over the place, and actually I like far more styles of music than represented in my message here so don’t be afraid to branch out as chances are I will dig it. Oh, one more: Witch House by Scale the Summit! Thanks for all the great lessons!!!

Julien

Hello Uncle Ben! Holy wars riffs, or anything from Rust in peace !

DenimDemon

Hiya, Would love to see the lead in Ghost's "Absolution" as a WW. It's short, sweet and includes some classic techniques. I can't for the life of me work out the picking technique @ 3:45

Malte Recksiek

Hey Uncle Ben! Im totally obsessed with Destrage's riffage and how they maintain this high energy factor ... technically, conceptually etc. Also Protest The Hero, they riff so hard, would love to hear your spin on their music!

Joseph Swift

Jeff Beck Scatterbrain or anything from Wired or Blow by Blow

Shawn T

a thematic series would be interesting (eg 2-3 weeks of classic riffs, modern use of modes)

Johan Larsson

Something on how to capture a certain tone. Like, Dimebag sound, Malmsteen sound and so on. What settings, what pedals.. or guitar.... And ofc some riffs from that gutarist to go with it.

Paul Baglio

How bout some technical death metal type stuff and stuff...lol

Jarrod DeVore

Hey, Uncle Ben! Could you do a lesson on Little Fighter? Solo lesson was dope AF, but the song seems like it has some pretty sweet chops in it too. Maybe if you can’t do a lesson, could you drop a link for your loyal patreons? Thanks for all you do!

James McLean

How about some of the older Pantera solos...from the albums "Cowboys from Hell" and "Vulgar Display of Power" Can't go wrong with Dimebag!!!

Jim Wood

The pick angle stuff you mentioned was a great tip. Some exercises switching up and down angle would be helpful and entertaining!

David Donaldson

How do you go about learning songs/riffs etc by ear? Is there a starting point that helps you anchor the key or the main parts of a riff and then you fill in the blanks from there? What tools and techniques do you use?
