Earlier on in the week, we had a discussion on the Synphaera Discord about modular, eurorack, and VCV Rack. In my opinion, VCV Rack is the perfect "starting point" for getting into modular synths, as it's a free way to experiment and learn the basics without having any financial investment. That said, VCV Rack can also be extremely intimidating! That's where I come in...

In this video, I walk you through the basics of a simple patch in VCV Rack and hopefully provide you guys with some simple solid tips to build your foundation of knowledge around VCV Rack and modular in general. Are you guys already using VCV Rack in your workflow? Have you been avoiding it based on a lack of understanding? Let me know in the comments below!

BONUS! Here is Patreon Micro Pack 64 (The sequence in the video is "Basic Sequence 2" - Enjoy! https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/mxiyu3d6dbwnnj9gjtvtq/Patreon-Micro-Pack-64-Beginners-Pack-for-VCV-Rack-by-S1gns-Of-L1fe.zip?rlkey=9u1s7lntjp0byexi6rtb3cxj9&st=ehjdnvig&dl=0

Hi, I am really keen to have a play with this, thanks Chris for doing this. Slight problem though, Instruō øchd doesn't look as if it is compatible with my Macbook and VCV Host-FX is $30. Are there any free alternatives I can use?

A while back, I explored VCV rack extensively, watching all of Omri's videos, but always struggled to read the module input/output labels on my old PCs (desktop only had VGA and laptop only had DVI), so I drifted away. For old times' sake, I watched this video of yours and realized that I can see everything crystal clear when zoomed in on HDMI and now, all thanks to you, I'm off down the rabbit hole again and loving every minute.
