I'm honored to be featured in the 100th video of Michael Brückner’s YouTube channel, where we sat down for an in-depth and wide-ranging conversation about music, creativity, and everything in between. We covered a lot of ground, from my early days playing Heavy Metal to the journey that led to creating ambient music as S1gns Of L1fe, Starterra, and Ascendant with Don Tyler. We talked about the role spirituality and astrology play in my creative process, the founding philosophy behind Synphaera Records, and how improvisation is finding new life through our sub-label Penté. There’s also some honest discussion about AI, authenticity, and what it means to stay true to your artistic vision.

If you’ve ever been curious about the story behind Synphaera, how Ascendant came to be, or how I think about music on a deeper level, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. Michael also included musical excerpts from my albums Celestial and Meridian, plus a track from Audrey Riley on Penté. It was a real pleasure to do this interview, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Cheers and enjoy,

Conversation with CHRIS BRYANT (S1gns of Life, Starterra, Ascendant)

This is my 100th video on YouTube - a very special moment, and I'm very happy to present an in-depth conversation with musician, composer, producer, label co-owner, sound designer, radio host and YouTuber Chris Bryant, who releases electronic music under the names S1gns Of L1fe and Starterra and is one half of the duo Ascendant (together with mastering engineer, producer and musician Don Tyler). Both of them also are founders and owners of Synphaera (and it's sub-labels, see links below), one of the most notable ambient / electronica labels today. In our conversation, we spoke about many topics, including Chris' musical projects, his philosophy as a curator and label owner, about AI, about spirituality in music, and Heavy Metal!
