For the Ambient Tutorials tier and up!

I'm starting a new series here on Patreon called "First Take" where I walk you through how to make a track from scratch that are meant to be warmups for videos slated for the YouTube channel. Not only does this allow me to go into greater detail, but it allows me to work out my ideas openly and you can see the process unfolding right before your very eyes. I think this will be beneficial for you and just one of the many benefits you get here on Patreon.

This is a classic S1gns Of L1fe style chill ambient track tutorial, suitable for all skill levels but it will help if you know your way around a synthesizer. That said, if you have any questions or have any thoughts about this format, let me know in the comments below!

Cheers,

Great video Chris!! I find these type of tutorials very helpful. The sound design side of things is great for me as I have a lot of the same plugins as you but I've only ever used presets. I've just bought steps and I'm looking forward to delving deeper into that. Keep them coming please :)

Chris is my hero of the week! Yesterday i took about 4hours to rebuild the stuff you set up in 40mins :-) Replaced Diva by Vital, added another Vital with one of your Ambient pad, created a contra melody and voila!! Today i played arround with the session view to setup a track of about 7 Mins, just by dropping the clips into the scenes. It works perfectly! And so far, i have ZERO Automation on it. 1st time i got something working in that short time. MORE...MORE....MOOOOOREEEE.... :-) :-)

Love this format. Beyond technique, these walkthrough/ride-alongs allow us to resonate with your creativity. I appreciate how you use Stepic. In fact the first video tutorial by you that I watched was the Stepic 1.5 overview you did. It was happily down the SOL rabbit hole from there.

This is very helpful, transparent, freedom of information. i’m going to follow this through this morning and see how I get on. This is the first time! (The Challenge!, what ever happens here, this will be the first track I share with my SOL family.)

I'm using Logic Pro X. How would I trigger Vital or Serum using Stepic? Do I just need to put Stepic before Vital in the stack?

Another awesome full track tutorial. Really enjoyed following along with each step, and seeing how each fit with the next. Thanks!
