Nightwish is one of those bands that I first got to know as 'The Daily Doug', and I've really enjoyed coming back to their music throughout the life of the channel. But, they've NEVER been featured here in the Extended Play Lounge. So, this time, help me pick the Nightwish album that we should start with.

Hmm… interesting that it’s only their most recent stuff. I probably would go with Oceanborn or Wishmaster otherwise. Now I need to think a bit harder.

It was a tough choice for me between Imaginaerum and Endless Forms....ultimately though, my vote went to Endless Forms as it holds some great memories for me around its release in 2015 and into 2016...and also seeing them on tour on their final show for EFMB at Wembley, which was immortalized on DVD/Bluray!

Great, finally a Nightwish EPL. :) Can't vote for anything other than Imaginaerum. Losing three times in polls to other stuff would be devastating. But it's actually a really great choice and I think you'll enjoy it a lot. Great music, well balanced between rocking songs and ballads. Concept reminding a bit of Pictures at an Exhibition.

Human Nature is the most diverse, original, mature... and overlooked of the bunch imho. Would love to get Doug's insights on Music, Noise, Pan, HTH, Endlessness--oh, hell, all of them. EFMB is very solid, but Doug's already heard The Greatest Show and Empty Hope. Imaginaerum has great songs, but Doug's reviewed Storytime, Song of Myself and Scaretale. My bigger issue is that I'm so spoiled by the tunes Floor's done live that Anette in the studio feels like a letdown. So much so, that I can barely take them.

Thanks again for persevering Doug. Fingers crossed for Imaginaerum. Been looking forward to it for ages. Stunningly crafted album. Am very impressed with Yesterwynde. Endless forms was what got me into Nightwish when Doug reviewed “greatest show” in the early days - still one of the top watched YouTube videos.
