I'm pleased to share this episode of our Fan Favorites series. We've got nine songs with wide-ranging musical sounds and aesthetics, all including some of our favorite mentions of modes of transportation. We've got two racecars, a motorcycle, a big yellow taxi, a 1952 Studebaker Coupe, a silver Thunderbird, and an airplane...and maybe some implied 'brain enhancements'. I hope you enjoy!

Really enjoyed this episode. Gary Neuman and King Crimson together. Where else can these two different styles come together but on Fan Favorites.

I love how the King Crimson title is given backwards. :) Also it looks like trains didn't get any representation. No worries, I can fix that. :)

A bit disappointed Silver Machine and 5 miles out didn’t make the cut. I thought they were going to scrape in. Ah well ….

A point of interest is that Tony Levin also played bass on Pink Floyd's "Learning To Fly", so he makes two appearances here.

A lovely FF. I was so glad to hear Neal and Jack and Me, and Big Yellow Taxi again in particular, but there were no tracks I didn't fully enjoy. Primus was a revelation in this episode, and I look forward to hearing more.

Praise the Lord for Pink Floyd. Thanks Matt B! The live Pulse version of this song is awesome

I did not submit anything for this theme, I somehow never got round to it... I do have 2 or 3 songs on Transportation that I'd like to submit so if there's a repeat of this theme I'll try to get my act together! I'm afraid though that they are not known enough to get enough upvotes to make the cut. Still next time I should try :-)

Wow, just listened to Ghost Rider for the first time. An incredibly poignant song. It must have been hard for Neil to write something so personal.

I always loved that ending vamp on the synths in "Cars". The hypnotic swirl of the phased synth lines. The sparseness is its specialty with those intervals of the two lines crossing and complementing each other. I think it is that mixolydian mode which adds to the dreamy vibe.

We need more Primus on the channel!

Just a guess about Joni and her guitar... I think that might have been an encore, since she said she wanted to sing more but her pipes were going. I wish my voice sounded that good when my pipes were going! But anyhow, perhaps that song had the capo in a different spot or it's in a different tuning than her last song, so she needed to retune.
