After looking at the Poulenc Gloria last fall...and portions of Handel's Messiah in December, I decided to stay in this lane a bit longer and take you through the soaring B Minor Mass of J.S. Bach. Written very late in his life...and largely compiled from earlier writing...this huge masterwork (at almost 2 hours in duration) continues to inspire almost 3 centuries after it's creation. We'll go through the rest of the work in next month's episode. Enjoy!

Just sublime. I loved the B Minor Mass ever since I discovered it 40 years ago. In fact, I would include this in my Desert Island Discs (80+ years old radio show on the BBC where you suppose you are marooned on an island for the rest of your life and have to choose 10 records to take with you). This performance is wonderful, and the score chosen is very helpful. This was a lovely suprise - Thanks Doug. Looking forward to Part 2.
