As March is International Women's Month, I'm asking you to choose from these albums by or featuring female artists. The ABBA and Alanis Morissette albums are both from our Master List. The other three (Annie Lennox, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell) are all artists that have also not yet been featured in an EPL episode...and I've yet to listen to any of these albums all the way through! Choose your preference for this next episode!

Omg so hard to choose! I want joni, Carole, Annie and Alanis 😂

How about something by Fanny??

Walking the Path with Chris Ramsbottom

This was seriously difficult, and I hope Annie and Joni make a future one. But I went for Tapestry because of the impact it had on me at the time of release. Here was an unconventionally beautiful woman with an unconventional voice playing unquestionably beautiful songs of every style - and she'd written the lot. What an inspiration to a 12 year old girl just starting a musical journey.

Happy with any but have to go for Annie as my favourite female singer although I was the submitter of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, which is great

Sadly, with this competition, Diva will not make it. Hope you still can get to it at some point, Its such an intelligent, wonderful and well produced pop album. Vastly different than what Annie has done with Eurythmics before. Her voice is so powerful and expressive on this one!

This is one of the hardest panels to select from I can remember as the level is so high. Arguably the solo albums are the best albums those artists produced and they are top artists in any case. I went for Alanis as it has already become a two horse race, and I want to keep it encouragingly close! I would be just as happy with the others.

Carole King's 'Tapestry' is the obvious choice for a ground breaking album by a female solo artist. It was huge. HUGE. Joni Michell's 'Blue' was brilliant but not as commercial. I voted for Carole King but there were other options I might have considered: Janis Joplin Sade Flora Purim Kate Bush Sandy Denny Rickie Lee Jones Carly Simon Linda Ronstadt PS Groups with female singers I'd vote for include, The Pretenders, Heart, Jefferson Airplane, Blonde, Fanny...
