A great countdown of tunes here! One bit of trivia that I should have included in my writeup for "Friday On My Mind" by The Easybeats -- Their rhythm guitarist and co-composer George Young was the older brother of Malcolm & Angus Young, who co-founded their own band, namely AC/DC! In fact, George was the co-producer for several of his little brothers' tracks, including... "Big Balls."

Great episode, and although I am not entirely familiar with the Australia / New Zealand music scene, I like that we had representation from various genres and nearly every decade over the last 60 years.

I don't think this has happened before with one of these, but both Need You Tonight and Highway to Hell are the top tracks for their respective artist, as far as Spotify streams are concerned. I should know, I did them both. (Lists I mean)

Douglas Hogg

Tightest rhythm section in rock music - Malcolm, Cliff and Phil. Maybe not as musically 'good' as, say, Geddy and Neal, but right in the pocket all the time.

George, along with Harry Vanda from the Easybeats, not only produced AC/DC, but also John Paul Young (no relation) in his huge hit 'Love Is In The Air' which sounds nothing like AC/DC... George and Harry also recorded as Flash And The Pan, their biggest hit being 'Waiting For a Train'.

"Six Months in a Leaky Boat" refers to the experience of early seafarers who sailed to New Zealand from England. "Aotearoa" is a Māori word for the North Island of New Zealand, which is why we see Māori dancers in the video.

Doug, the Midnight Oil "Oils on the Water" live concert (Goat Island) is definitely one of the hardest-rocking politically minded concerts of all time (worth an EPL).

Bill Coonley

"Don't Dream It's Over" is one of the most perfect pop tunes of any time. Interestingly, the Hammond organ solo at the outro originally quoted Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", but fades out before we hear it.

I am really looking to catching up with this - the perfect Friday evening wind down🙂🍺🍷

Love the bagpipe sound in Under the milky way. It's actually a synthesizer. Good choice to include Blue sky mine. I hadn't heard it in a long time. Best song of this episode.

Doug, you have actually reacted to split enz on a doug on Demand episode a while back. The song was stranger than fiction/Time for a change

Men at Work's first two albums are flawless, IMO. I was fortunate to see them on the Cargo tour in 1983. It was a great show.
