Hey y'all! I'm pleased to present the final video from our time in New Jersey. I reached out to some of our Doug's Angels and our Discord Administrator for their picks for songs that make us emotional. I waived the duration limit this time, allowing for some longer pieces, and I really enjoyed the music. I hope that you do as well!

I really thought that I had heard Chimerical Moments before...turns out we did in a Council Hangout in 2022. Great to hear it again!

The Echoes cover reminded me that I once saw the California Guitar Trio open for King Crimson and they did a version of Echoes. That was really good too. For me Echoes is the best Pink Floyd song. Everything just right. Everyone in the band being able to contribute. And Gilmour and Wright singing together is the best. I wish they did that more in the later years.

There were A LOT of notes in this group of songs and every single one of them was worth listening to. Super episode! Thanks for the opportunity and enjoy your summer

Ross Pollack

Great selection of tunes. The X Japan song was really something!

That was fun! Great idea for an episode, thank you for letting us "leftover" Angels & Admins pick a song, just like that. Now I have to think really hard for my next DoD pick...

Doug, I can’t thank you enough for not only taking the time out of your day to listen to my pick, but also doing some light research on it too in order to understand the meaning of the song better. It brings me joy that you felt the same way I did after listening to it for the first time, and again I want to thank you. Can’t wait for Daily Doug 3.0! Also quick comment on the piano solo because this confused me forever on what was happening with the “delay”, but what I think is happening is that there is a second pianist that starts playing before Yoshiki does (you see him in orange lights before Yoshiki sits down and they cut his lights out) so I believe he is mimicking what Yoshiki is playing at certain times which is why sometimes you hear a “delay” and sometimes you don’t. I could be wrong though and if anybody can fact check me on this please do because I’m honestly still confused.

So happy for the Angels to have this exclusive pick. They deserved this special last episode in the old setting. They give so much financial support to Doug & Meg , as well as moral support of course. I especially loved Rodrigo y Gabriela's accoustic rendition of Echoes. Good choice Kellie! ❤️

Great episode. Great picks!! And speaking of picks - holy flat picking Batman. Billy strings is the MAN!! Bucket list goal to see him perform live but the tickets are insanely expensive. Huge fan of that happy bluegrass sound.

Dr. Doug, you commented that you wished you could see Rodrigo y Gabriela playing. This was posted in the Question of the Day thread on the Discord a few days ago by Douglas: Rodrigo y Gabriela do an amazing ACOUSTIC version of 'Echoes'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2vIPnzY90w
