OK y'all! The next EPL is soon upon us, and the timing will be right around Halloween. So, I've picked five potential albums that either have some supernatural or Sci-Fi elements included in their songs.

Vote for your favorite! The Poll will go through Saturday the 28th. Thanks for your participation!

I feel that TRtRtS would be more "conversational" than the other candidates.

Dave Curran

If you do go for the War of the Worlds, try to get hold of the gatefold vinyl with the all the beautiful artwork inside. Also go for the original LP mix. The recent remixes seem to loose a lot of the detail, particularly the keyboards, and use some different vocal takes with different lyrics etc. Has to be the original version. (same with Journey, go for the original 1974 version, not the recent re-recording).

Phil Sparkes

Rick Wakeman for me. He's touring the UK next year, playing JTTCOTE along with classic Yes.

Trevor Cotterell

Journey for me too. Great album, great fun live (saw it at the Royal Albert Hall in London - best concert hall in the world :)

Illume Eltanin

Oh, goodness. I’ll be happy with either Jeff Wayne, APP, or Steven Wilson. I’ll toss my vote for APP, though. Edgar Alan Poe stories strike me as the most appropriate for a Hallowe’en themed EPL.

TreeN6TR

Tough choices - voted for The Raven, but would love to hear Alan Parsons someday.

Great Scott

Rick, or Alan. Rick or Alan. Tough choice. Going for ... Rick. (Oh, dear, silly people, Rick's masterwork is better than Steven...)

Anderson Davies

Missing Oingo Boingo here. No other band has such a connection to Halloween. Take their 5th album "Dead Man's Party". Including the title Track, "No on lives forever", and "Weird Science" paint the theme. Oingo Boingo held special halloween live shows nearly each year since the 80ties up to now (different singer and guitarist). Their frontman Danny Elfman is by now known as one of the best film score composers, especially known to be The Musicman behind each (each) Tim Burton film! Also returning elements on Oingo Boingo's covers include the optics of the Mexican Day of the Dead. Please! Next year without poll one of their early 80ties albums. 666 pleases from me 👏🏻!

Oohh... another difficult decision where we have a limit on how many we can pick. Ok, I'll vote for the one with the least votes this time, to express that even the "loser" is well worth listening to.

Estefanía Sucre

Tales of Mystery and Imagination would be PERFECT for the occasion!

Richard Plante

Missing from the list is Welcome to my Nightmare by Alice Cooper.

Tom (the soggy one)

Not the most seasonal, but I have to go with Wakeman Journey. Why? This was my gateway into prog in 1980. Freshman year of high school in the tech department at the Youth Performing Arts School, and JTTCOTE played on a constant loop on the speakers in the lighting booth where we did our drafting practice. I was familiar with some Yes (didn't know the connection) and already had a deep connection with showtunes and Bernstein. But this grabbed me by the throat and has steered me to this day. Steven Wilson is fine, but this, to me, is the absolute pinnacle, defining document of prog rock.

Pam Norris

I’m going with Rick Wakeman! Would really like to hear this one.

Chris Gadsby

Have voted for Journey, but think The Raven might be a better fit for Halloween.

Ray Sincere

Journey to the Centre of the Earth really isn't very Halloween. There are some prehistoric beasts in it, but they only appear briefly, and the overall tone for the album is one of adventure, not horror. I voted for The Alan Parsons Project.

Chris Gadsby

Just noticed Alan Parsons was the engineer on Steven Wilson’s The Raven, and credited with a bit of guitar ….

Richard Rathbun

Well, been trying to vote for Wakeman because Doug's heard a bit of Raven....and I always vote for an underdog and non-winner :-) but anyway, the page is not operating correctly and I can't cast a vote, which is just as well given I never have voted for the winner in any poll here :-)))
