Hi y'all! I'm pleased to present this month's Fan Favorites video. This month, we're returning to our favorite Diamonds in the Rough, but we're focusing on a more global perspective. The result is an eclectic and fun nine-song countdown. I had a blast with these songs, and I hope you do as well!Vimeo Link: https://vimeo.com/879951753/8032882625?share=copy

This is great! I’m looking forward to seeing which, if any, get culled to appear on the YouTube channel.

Lashers

A proper roller coaster ride. I know that Doug has previously rejected Hawkwind submissions; I wonder if hearing Acid Mothers Temple will make him more or less likely to accept them in the future?

Phin

The intro production is top tier

Peter Tutak

My entry (‘Madre’) bears correction: It’s actually sung in Turkish. Apologies for not being able to tell the difference between that and Hindi.

This is why I'm a Patreon subscriber. To see you react to lesser known but downright amazing musicians. Not surprised you were floored by Hiromi and her band. They are just killing it. Glad you listened to a hidden prog gem like Bacamarte too. I knew like 6 of these artists. Happy to have discovered the others.

Steve Hartke

That was fantastic!! So much really cool music… None I was familiar with, and all of it I enjoyed… Have to check out more Hiromi!! Great work Doug…✌️

Nickie Kelly

Great to have Doug hear iamthemorning. Their work is sophisticated and well worth diving into, for anyone not familiar.

John Clark

I'd love to see the good Doctor react to the title track of the album from which the Unitopia track came, The Garden. If he was to listen to the live version on their One Night in Europe album, even better. Alternatively, from their Artificial album, the track Tesla, again, from the live album.

Richard Plante

Absolutely fascinating! Amazing music and love your reaction. I didn’t know any of these but was completely blown away by all of them. Thank you Doug, you truly help us discover lesser known music.

I did make it through all the looping and still really enjoyed the music and Doug' take on them,,,my top FF yet.....thankx Doug & family for a great one.....dk

Don Mal 1

Just listened to FF again. [ 5th time ] I really love the music BUT stil only the audio not the video. that's OK....dk

Myrath sounds a lot like Orphaned Land. I was going to suggest one of their songs for this but most of those had a lot of Youtube views higher than what was requested. But I did love a lot of these artists and I'm going to want to check some of these out more.

Just catching up on this. You said you'd gladly listen to the entire Bacamarte album straight away. Honestly, you should, but I hope you'll consider it for a future EPL episode as it is very worthy of that treatment. A lot of albums with "lost classic" status don't quite merit it when you examine them closely, but Depois do Fim assuredly does - every track on that album is top tier classic prog that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best work from any of the big six.

Paul Hoyle

I would love you to play either the title track 'The Friends of Mr Cairo' or 'Horizon' from Private Collection by Jon & Vangelis Many thanks . Paul
