We really enjoyed doing this last year, so the 12 Songs of Dougmas is back! For the past 3 weeks, we've received submissions and upvotes via Discord. These songs are the ones that are special to us...they might be big hits or deep cuts. Either way, these songs are put forth because a reaction would be like receiving a special holiday gift.

So...now it's on to this Poll. There are 20 selections listed here...these are the top 20 from the Discord voting. 12 will be included in the final video.

YOUR TASK...VOTE FOR UP TO 6 that you'd like to see make it into our video countdown. This poll will run through next Wednesday, Dec. 6.

I expect the video to be released sometime in mid-December. Happy voting!

Here is a private YouTube playlist with all of these options: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO0n3LrUjxKrdZZOz0PItctDr6k1cVfkF

I got an error "The playlist does not exist" when trying to view the YouTube link that you provided. Is it possible to set the playlist to "Unlisted" visibility ?

Digibirder

Please listen to the Saga before you vote! It's a gorgeous masterpiece that deserves Dougs fine ear.

Paul Blume

If you go with Unquiet Slumbers, you MUST do Afterglow too. They flow into each other. It would be like playing Golden Slumbers without playing Carry That Weight and The End, Also Afterglow kinda sounds like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas for a moment.

Arrow2theACL

I went with something a bit new. Check out The Dear Hunter video if you like a good concept story through music.

Jozo

Oh I really hope Moon Safari makes it. Though they will definitely be at a great disadvantage going up against all these big hitters. Lovely selection of music here overall!

Eusebio R-Z

Dear fellow Patrons, If you haven't listened to Hawkwind yet, now it would be a great time for it. Hopefully you'll want to vote for them afterwards :) Space Rock at its best!

Øyvind Rønningstad

I know A Lifetime of Adventure is the most popular Tuomas song, but personally I think Glasgow 1877 is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made.

Vihtori Suominen

It would be really cool to have more krautrock in the Daily Doug / here on Patreon in the coming year. CAN is - no doubt - one of the most unique bands in the 70s; their classic work Tago Mago (1971) would be a really good pick for extended play lounge!

Richard Plante

Can always use more Frank Zappa, bonus this track includes Captain Beefheart and a great 7 minute Zappa guitar solo 🎸

Chris Gadsby

2023 has been a great year for Hawkwind. Cracking new album, 50th anniversary of The Space Ritual tour and album and a sell out at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Let’s see if we can top it off with an entry in the 12 Songs on Dougmas!

Tom

Hey folks, if you havent heard of the Beatles before, check them out. I nominated them cause I think they need more exposure. :P

Matt B

Please give "Tuomas Holopainen - A Lifetime of Adventure" a listen and a vote...This is some of Tuomases work from outside of Nightwish, and it's such a gorgeous and beautiful track, especially for this time of year with a slight festive theme to it. I've Just looked down Dougs playlist as well and it is one of the most viewed out of the 20 as well, with 4.4 million views on YouTube!

Steve Hartke

Just my thoughts, if you weren’t necessarily looking for Christmas songs, don’t call it Dougmas, with a picture of Doug in Santa gear… Please vote for Father Christmas by The Kinks!! ✌️

Steve Hartke

Can I cast 2 votes for Benny Goodman - Sing Sing Sing?!!
