Trace never said he wouldn't kill him. He only said he would call for the Healer. Perhaps he wants the Healer to heal Laura and the Templar. The Templar so he can kill him several times.

This case is non-canon, but I think Flora already has in the storyline. I think this shows that love looks past the physical.

I relate! Humans cand o many things... but canids ( and I beleive felids) can do things humans can't. Why would the ability to use magic be any different? Keidren obviously have the intelligence to understand the theory of magic, they just don't possess the physical ability to generate the specific type of energy needed.

It doesn't seem that dark, outside of Trace's poor anger management (understandable due the loss). Actually, I see Sariah's influence in his protection of Laura.

I beleive this storyline broke from canon at the point where Trace was going down that rabbithole. The wolf (Sariah's murderersl) abused Laura and when he found her it re-awakened his compassion for someone hurt by those who hurt his love. My only question is: what happened to Rose in this timeline? It scares me...

A reminder that though the darkness of the black magic curse took over his mind, it could never take over his heart. I feel like if he kept using black magic in the comic and more of his body transformed to the point he became an unrecognizable monster, he’d still be the kind and loving person that he is inside.

It isn't, although it's probably shortly before that happens. Trace lost his memories in a field not the Templar base.

well that is what i thought of as he left to do what he thinks is right for laura and as he were almost finished said target made trace his memories via use of dark magic

I dunno perhaps they do they just don't know it I'd like to point out Natani's 'spell' that linked her to her brother, what kept that spell going? Maybe humans do have this so called Core but maybe Keidran can actually channel mana...

HMM... I guess that's possible,but it could also be that their link was like 'wiring'. Once the circuit is set, it simply carries the electricity. Kinda like magical items... they're inanimate, but once they're set up they carry that magic spell. Interesting thought either way!

Okay, I can see that. And yes something provides the mana. The canon comic made it seem like Clovis just intentionally 'cut the wiring' to the link spell. Like unplugging (or tearing out) the Cat 6 cable from the computer.

IDK. Sorry for the delay, this thread is pretty far down the chain. The cable was created by Clovis (I would believe) using mana crystals. Once connected, it could be set to be self supporting (like an ad hoc network). Of course, without something to protect one or both computers (Natani and Zen) forcefully yanking out the cable might shut down one or both. It would at least permanently short out the network cards... maybe? Mana and ethereal magic isn't fully delineated in Tom's canon
