Willow is too pure of soul to trick anyone ! I would trust her. This picture reminds me of old pictures of tribals in their war/religious body paint. No shyness for it is their culture and way of life.

Intriguingly large amount of black on her... all ancient jungles and forests have a lot of death and decay just beneath the surface. Still, Willow refused to return to her mother and felt terrible guilt over her friend. Not truly a fey spirit, maybe? Still would rather her follow me, though!

Yes, that is right, rainforests are a constant process of growth and decay, especially since their soils are usually very infertile. But how goes the saying: nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or more poetic: I let her lead me in dance three years ago and I will follow her again now.

What does 'inking' mean? Is it a special term for some step in coloring or is it just a synonym of coloring?

I would expect it to be a synonym for coloring also. If not a correction would be highly appriciated.

The way Tom draws these images is he sketches them then when he decides to color them in he takes the sketch and makes an ink stencil by drawing more solid black lines. Afterwards he colors in the stencil and then shades the image along with other VFX's like the lighting (for example the blue glow surrounding Willow's lantern in this image

This is the coloring stage. The usual drawing sequence is: sketch -> line -> base color -> shadows and effects. Narikusha did the line and base color.
