Even when she is trying to scare us she is still adorable

RemyHindle

Oh yes, totally normal Mira, nothing suspicious here lol

Forge27

Oh no, it's genetic.

Invasion of the Snep Snatchers

millington

Maeve is getting copied too?!

TWOKINDS4EVER

She looks like she has been on sugar high

Jonathan Reinhold

From "Totally normal Adira" to "Totally normal Snep Daughter"... It lies in the family!

WDG

Pod mother and pod daughter, running a pod tavern full of pod patrons. Pod people all day long. How pleasant.

Emil Märkert

NO! That would be terrible for the story! Is the mother already dead? And will the daughter also be dead in the future?!

Just a Cat

I don’t get it, this is just an image of Mira...

Rook Prime

That's not normal at all! ...Mira would never let her clothes get that out of place!

AskDerpyCat

Aw little Mira. So normal

wjd1206

No... Nope... uh-uh. NO WAY! Besides, there's a voice in the back of my head screaming 'child abuse'!

wjd1206

No one said Adira is definitely deceased. I tend to think possessed, it was even said that the riftwall only responds to the owner.

wjd1206

😉😉😉

Tiger

She just needs a hug!

Zorro Zor

I'm starting to feel like this is some yet-unveiled result of when a Keidran is driven to their limits...

Red Omega

are you my mummy?

IcyNightMedic

Creepy. . These s-walker's are getting out of hand. ( ._.)

Warmfur

Agreed like, everyone has a limit before they lose it, and with how keidran are treated it'll make sense that they'll most likely lose it sooner or later

Zorro Zor

That paired with their (usual) attunement to magic I'd bet doesn't feel good on the mind, at breaking point.

Cedric L.

Brother get the flamer... The heavy flamer...

Muddypaws

Key up “The Twilight Zone” theme music.

Gwen Fateburn

I specifically came to the comments looking for this line,😅

Just remember to count your internal organs after the hug

This is actually one of my favorite artworks

Imposter or not i would never hit a child.

feralcat52

I'm so relieved that our little Mira is safe....

Miva

oh no. I get Doctor How vibe.... "are you my mummy" yust missing the mask tho. XD

Bill Redfern

That begs the question, how much overlap exists between TwoKinds fans (TwoKinsites?) and Whovians? For what it's worth, I'm both.

wjd1206

🤣🤣 But this one may hit you... and much harder than she should be able to! 😅😅

wjd1206

UH... yeah... sure.🤥🤥🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tiglish

No just daddy here

Sono

Cute kitty cat daughter? I'll be your mommy

Jem

Someone left her headlights on. I'll turn them off. *boop*

Malen69

This TOTALLY doesn't have Poltergeist vibes at all. Nope, not one bit. I'll uhh... i'll just run for my life now.

J. N. Squire

She has just fallen by accident on a field of catnip!

SCD

She's fine.

SCD

Mira: I see dead people.

Sernard

It runs in the family

Drazgon

yep, this time it's completely different face.

Crimson

Totally normal

Cedric L.

Do not... Boop it

Xhan

I would give Mira a reassuring hug. Oh look, my heart is gone.

Kate Parsons

would be funny if mira was actually a completely different person and just happens to look exactly like maeve with blue eyes. but they are completely normal and chill and everyone is extremely confused about it

SCD

Mira: Redrum!

feralcat52

Isn't that what mind-controlled(?) Adira said?

wjd1206

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I got a baaad feeling about this.

Emil Märkert

The way you put it makes sense. But since we’re already talking about the comic, I need to say something about the archer and Keiren >:| . I mean, I’m totally fine with Keiren casually putting an arrow right into the archer’s forehead — no complaints there. But what seriously pisses me off as an airsoft player is that the wolf Keidran still doesn’t get a very simple concept: cover. The archer could just stay behind cover, take a shot, and then reload behind that cover. But no — this genius decides to stand up straight, fully exposed in the open, and reloads right there! Come on, man! That’s the dumbest move you can make! And what the hell is the assassin even doing upstairs? From a tactical standpoint, he should be on the same floor as Keiren. Argh, MANNNN! Well… it’s written now, so I guess there’s no turning back.

Hunter_emerald07

Well that spell like from astro core that infectet uttvm ngl fr

wjd1206

I think the archer wolf was relying on the melee fighter on the first floor to distract Kei and prevent the 'return fire'. Not to mention that a 'controlled' Adira behind Kei. She already took his shield crystal, right? Multiple concurrent threats is what makes combat so difficult and talented operators so special. Remember the training model: crawl, walk, run. Slowly learn to see and recognize all threats, then start applying what you've learned everyday and everywhere, and finally make it fast and automatic so that reactions to threats are also automatic. Not an easy task, and believe it or not, one of the problems of returning to non-combat civilian life.

Emil Märkert

I totally agree with your comment. But what really bothers me is this whole “slow basics” idea — like first crawling, then walking, then running. If that’s supposed to be the basics, or if it’s just about slowly analyzing and understanding everything in detail, then honestly, that wolf should’ve been studying vectors for years already. He should already know: – what a human can do – what he can do – what he needs to improve – where he needs to get better – what tactics he can add to his toolbox Especially because he’s got the experience. He’s got that scar on his muzzle — from a shot he almost didn’t survive. That could’ve been his death if he hadn’t dodged it at the last second. So what does he do now? Probably makes the exact same mistake again, just like years ago. Which raises the question: Does he have amnesia? Or did he break all these basic rules I just laid out because he’s depressed and wanted to act as — how do I put it — a distraction for the assassin and the other close-combat fighter? Rule number 1: Open spaces Open spaces are a death sentence. If you step out into an open field during a fight, you become an immediate target. You should always avoid them and use cover. In a forest, for example, undergrowth gives you a huge advantage. You can hide way easier than if you’re walking on a sidewalk or across a giant meadow. A thick tree can protect you. Even just throwing yourself to the ground and hiding your rifle makes you harder to spot. That’s how it should be done. Rule number 2: Cover Cover is your friend. It stops bullets. You should shoot and then change position, because shooting gives away where you are. But don’t keep moving in predictable patterns – that just makes you easier to track. So shoot, switch positions, and don’t stick to the same rhythm. Rule number 3: Shooting Shooting is not just blasting from one spot. It takes discipline. Don’t always use the same hole or window – vary it. Crouch, lean, shoot through smaller openings if you have to. You might not hit as precisely, but it keeps your opponent guessing. And yeah, people might try to shoot back through those holes, but you’ll be less exposed overall. Rule number 4: Hills Avoid standing on hills. If you’re on top of one, you’re like a spotlight on a dark stage. The curve of a hill is natural – but if something sticks out on it, like your head or weapon, you’ll get noticed and shot. Better stay low and avoid becoming a silhouette against the horizon. Rule number 5: Reloading Never reload out in the open. First thing you do is get back into cover, crouch or lie down, and reload safely. Or at least move to a new position. Hell, fake some blind fire to buy time. But don’t just stand there reloading like a target dummy. And that’s exactly what that wolf-Keidran did – he stood, shot, and then reloaded right in the open. Dumb move. He should’ve dropped to the ground, crawled away, maybe even done a backwards dive like in Black Ops 6 or something, then reloaded behind cover. Instead, he stood behind a railing with huge gaps – Keiren could literally shoot him in the nuts or in the stomach. About the assassin The assassin being on the upper floor made no sense. He’s built for stealth and close combat. He should’ve been on the ground floor, near Keiren. Dropping down wastes time. Sneaking in close would’ve been smarter. Sure, maybe the wolf was depressed and wanted to get killed as a distraction for the assassin. But honestly, it looked more like tactical stupidity. He broke all the basic rules. Conclusion This was sloppy. It felt like going into a gunfight with slippers as weapons while the enemy has a shotgun. That’s how dumb it was. No wonder humans dominate in this world. But still – even the Keidran could at least try to use tactics. Just a little bit.

Joshu Kel'Machan

Let’s stick with the tavern fight for a moment: four against one, with number five surely still in cover. That’s an overwhelming force — no wonder the hot-blooded Wolf Keidran got a bit overconfident. None of the attackers probably expected Badira’s cover to be blown so quickly. And certainly, none of the wolves anticipated just how quick-witted Kei is, or how much experience he has in a fight. After all, he’s just a second-rate militia man — a farm boy… The biggest mistake you can make is underestimating your opponent. And that’s exactly why Kei, despite being in an almost hopeless situation, still has a chance. We’ll see how it all turns out.

Joshu Kel'Machan

Well, to be honest, we don’t even know if Mira really exists at all… Kei made up the name because he grew suspicious — and quite cleverly, he even chose the same first letter as in Maeve.

Joshu Kel'Machan

I found some sarcasm… oh right, we’ve had that one already. 😎

Emil Märkert

Even if the enemy is outnumbered, discipline is key. The wolf-Keidran underestimated Keiren — fine. But when the arrow bounced off his shoulder armor, he should’ve instantly realized: “Okay, this guy’s dangerous” and taken cover. Instead, he stayed exposed. That’s a clear lack of discipline. Overconfidence doesn’t justify that. With his past experiences, he should’ve known better. That mistake got him killed. And another thing: crossbows used to be insanely powerful. Historically, they were so strong that you needed a crank to draw them. That’s why they had a metal stirrup — you’d put your foot in it and pull the string up with both hands. The bolts had enough force to go straight through a skull or get stuck so deep the arrowhead would poke out the other side. Modern games and stories totally ignore that. For example, in Minecraft, the character just pulls the string back by hand — which makes absolutely no sense with that kind of weapon power.

Joshu Kel'Machan

The hand crossbows used by Kei and the wolf actually did exist from the late Middle Ages onward. Their one-handed operation and limited penetrating power — as shown by the bolt bouncing off Kei’s shoulder armor — are accurately portrayed by Tom. However, these weapons were more of a status symbol or used for hunting small game and birds rather than intended for serious warfare. They were likely not particularly accurate either. @Emil: Your description of large crossbows in terms of handling and devastating penetration is also correct. These two-handed war weapons were typically used by defenders in castles and were reloaded and spanned behind the safety of the battlements. Their powerful impact, even against heavily armored opponents, came at the cost of a very slow rate of fire. They usually were fired from a supported position, which allowed for much greater precision. Fun fact: In old fortifications, you can still see cross-shaped loopholes designed to accommodate the shape of a crossbow. These openings gave the shooter a better field of view and thus a clearer, more accurate shot and also allowed the weapon to be properly aimed at the target. On discipline: here we should keep in mind the impulsive nature of the Keidran races as described bei Tom. Lucky Kei to have such oponents …

feralcat52

Right, we've done this bit.... :P

Emil Märkert

Yeah, you’re right — there were (or still are) smaller crossbows. I actually didn’t know they were used for hunting. So I learned something new — thanks for the info! And I also didn’t know that Keidrans are generally impulsive. Still, I can’t really imagine that being the reason why the wolf-Keidran died. But speaking of opponents — it would really suck if Keiren ends up fighting a human who’s even more experienced than he is.

Joshu Kel'Machan

You’re welcome! Right now, most theories suggest that Clovis’ men are occupying the tavern to cover their boss’s retreat. It’s also possible that the wolve army is involved, but in my opinion, the fox with the two throwing knives who jumps from the balcony in the last panel doesn’t quite fit that theory — he looks more like a typical assassin than a soldier from the wolves’ army. The axe-wielding wolf also seems more like a brawler than a soldier. That said, we’ve only seen wolves in actual warfare once before, and that was a long time ago… Of course, it’s still possible that the Templars are pulling the strings behind the scenes — in which case Kei could very well be facing a seasoned veteran. Let’s hope things work out for him. By the way, are you familiar with the TwoKinds Forum? Discussions like this would probably fit in perfectly over there.

wjd1206

@Emil your statements are not in any way incorrect (as @Joshu commented). I was referring to the fact that organized defense forces use the 'walk-crawl-run' training methodology to allow their soldiers to gain a better or deeper understanding of the critical thinking in their tactics. I immediately felt that the wolves were either freelance skirmishes or untrained street fighters that nothing more than rote training (if any at all) which fits with @Joshu's assessment that these are probably Clovis' thugs, not a standing army unit. Clovis may be a smart thief and schemer, but historically he was never a tactician in canon. Getting back to my original comment, I thought the wolf with the axe was supposed to be a big enough distraction that Kei wouldn't notice either the archer or the assassin (or both) and certainly not be able to counter effectively. Sorry for the delay in response, RL tends to do that. And thanks to @Joshu who very eloquently explained my thoughts without even knowing them! Bravo!

wjd1206

Agreed! Just going along with the possession theory and perhaps the possessor using Maeve... Mira... you get the idea! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😉😉
