it's probably the same 'flawed transformation" spell that Rose tried to use to sneak into the human lands, and which Trace used to curse Raine's mother when he took over as high templar. perhaps with the intent for the collar to bypass the usual duration limit.

We see a giant sized shadow while she is defending Sythe from a couple of Clovis' goons. No wings though. One friend of mine thinks she is an Asian type dragon in hiding.

Yes, a dragon is most likely since most dragon legends give them some form of shapeshifting. No wings on the shadow *could* simply be a trick of light source placement. Of course, Tom hasn't confirmed or denied either assumption, so....

Somehow I doubt that it's the *same* spell Trace used. I also think that bad Trace's spell was intentionally painful and I suspect when it completed the transformation, the spell ended... leaving the the cursed individual locked in that form until a reversal could be cast. Hence the reason for the magic suppression shackles placed on Mary Silverlock and Raine to keep them in keidren form (Mary Silverlock presumably would only need to find mana crystals to change them back). https://www.patreon.com/posts/19129243?utm_campaign=postshare_fan&utm_content=android_share
