Adelaide bringing soup to a sick Madelyn, suggested by Max O-Zuma!

Basitin are generally resistant to disease, but no system is perfect. And like everything else, it scales with a Basitin's fortitude. I imagine when something breaks through, it hits like a truck. Probably all the more worrisome when it happens.

Aww this is very sweet and adorable. Adelaide is a great mother! :)

Denizen Blue

Awwww, that's a good mama right there!

UBE Chief

"Gently" she says. Suuuuuurrrrre. But Adelaide is a great mom nonetheless~

DonnaTheShark

Sometimes being a Mom is more important than being a ruler, and she knows this. <3

Vk102_Artworks

Lets be honest, they may be mad, but they're not crazy enough to bring it up to Adelaide XD

Punelope Punstop

“A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.” Agatha Christie (English writer)

Rook Prime

I'm sure it will be gentle, for someone her size. Of course, she's a good 18 inches taller than and double the weight of the average basitin...

Xhan

And so Adelaide "gently" reminded the council why she is king.

okami-zero

Look, there is Mom Adelaide gently, and many varieties of King Adelaide "gently". We k ow which ones the old goats will get. XD

Rook Prime

A good king does have to know when to carefully tend to their people...And just how much force is needed to explain what's been done if some subjects disagree.

feralcat52

It's nice to see this side of King Adelaide.

If Alabaster said one word too much, the Intelligence General's position would be open pretty fast

Maddie: " By 'gently explain', do you mean 'use them to remove a few load-bearing walls'?" Adelaide: "Hey, I am more than capable of resolving a situation with words! But probably, yes."

Comrade Gibby

"gently explain it to them" aka "there's gonna be a lot of ouchies"

Halo Hybrid

Seeing King Adelaide mothering is so sweet and wholesome to witness. 🥰 By “Gently” Explain does she means “ROYAL RUMBLE”!!!!!!!!!!!

J. Martin Laursen

A parent should be allowed to take day off for a childs first sick day.

Andrew Copsey

"Gently" meaning tossing the offending General a mile or so out to sea and, after they've swum back to shore, plucking them out of the surf, pretending to examine them, brightly declare "Too small, better throw it back" and throwing them back out again.

Nerflo

Would love to see this

Илья Kalinin

You know, it's so funny to see it when you can't get out of bed because of illness.

Joshu Kel'Machan

I wonder what ‘gentle’ means when the king says it …

Drazgon

Let me comfort myself with a thought that it was a casual council meeting about something like a organization of celebration or building new schools or something. Let me keep seeing Adelaide as a righteous selfless king who puts needs of the realm first and would not let it fall because of some family crisis or even family tragedy.

SCD

Adelaide: With violence! Madelyn: Oh.

Drazgon

Interesting that even Tom himself references to Adelaide as Adelaide even in the same sentence with Madelyn

Glenn Sellers

So, does "gently" mean only 2 broken bones for King Adelaide?

Glenn Sellers

It looks like several of us were thinking along the same line.

wjd1206

I don't know what 'gently' means in this context, but I *know* it would be unwise to challenge a mom with King Adelaide's abilities!😉😉😉🤣🤣🤣

Oswald

I love thinking of basitins as goats

Kurtis Ryan

I want to see her "gently" explain it.

Aaron Peterson

"Gently" explaining it is mercifully killing them swiftly.

Cirian

Gently suplex the explanation into them~

Max O-Zuma

Honestly, I forgot that Basitins had disease resistance. But now that I know, the head-canon I'm going with is that, while Basitins are resistant to diseases, they're more likely to get sick while they're young and their immune systems are not yet fully developed. For comparison, maybe they have some kind of "Island Flu" that's similar to our "Chicken Pox," a thing you get sick with once or twice at most, then never again. It was great to watch this get drawn. Thank you.

AstroChaos

It's good to be da king!

GravTempest

I'm enjoying this wholesome scene because I know it reminds us of when we were sick as kids. That wonderful feeling knowing that your parents had your back as you recovered. Also see this getting colored.

Reni Akuren

There's priorities, being a mama is first above all else. :3

Earendil

I do be enjoying the wholesome posts.

J. Martin Laursen

Those ot you who can`t accepet that having a sick child is a valid excuse to stay home, can experince a lot of sick days of their own. Nursing broken arms and legs,

Argonwolf

A death stare is technically gentle, and surely all she needs to get any of her subordinates to drop the subject.

ijuinkun

It's great to see her just being a Mom here. Even the clothes are Mom clothes rather than Royal clothes.

Ebonbolt

Would love to see that "gentle explanation."

Ebonbolt

"Gently" means they all leave the conversation with all their extremities attached & unbroken. "Ungently" means they leave the conversation in one container. "Roughly" means they might leave the conversation… intermittently.

Ebonbolt

That is, indeed, one specific example of my definition of "gently."
