Tom has talked about some mask lore thoughts during streams and mentioned that there could be ways for people to be freed under certain circumstances (or that beings like Nora could escape even if imprisoned). Whether anyone actually will be freed, though? Only Tom knows for sure!

Wouldn't it just be whoever the mask was made from but made of snow? Was that one made from some sort of actual wild beast? Actually, I could totally see them doing that for a number of reasons.

We've already established that the masks can have people (and possibly animals) sealed inside, might even be necessary for them. This seems exceedingly possible

It's a funny non-canon idea/gag which I will give props to, but there's no need to invent "lore" for something that isn't a thing. If I asked Tom to draw Trace with a bazooka, it doesn't make any sense for me to say "I can think of some lore why Trace has a bazooka". Because there is no lore for that. Masks working on inanimate objects has zero canon basis, and Tom drawing it here doesn't make it canon either. Otherwise, people inventing a mask mechanic which doesn't exist and then trying to explain it seems kinda disrespectful to Tom's world. You're not coming up with an explanation for Tom's choice, you're inventing something, and then trying to justify it lorewise. Enjoy the gag, it's a funny one. But don't try to invent something and then justify how it fits in with Tom's stuff? Best leave that to him to respect his work?
