I don't recall that being specifically mentioned. However judging by their reactions to things in the Island Arc I think it's 'frowned upon' In a general sense. Like a "Why would you be with Human\Keidren, we are isolationist... All that disorder" Kinda thing.

DarthKeidran. Slightly based on my own life, I could give you a hole livestory about Keidran me. Here the short one: Born and raised far away from Basitin Island in a very casual way. Barefoot, short pants and wide shirts all the time, cause fur+clothes=itchy. Pacifistic daydreamer with absolutely no military education. Likes reading, cuddling and even if he can´t use it, is realy interested in everything with magic. Short enough?

Yeah. That's true. But, then, back prior to the 1960s, it was illegal (over most of the world) to marry or even have a relationship with someone outside your race. But, people still did it. It's still frowned upon in many parts of this country today. I'm probably talking through my hat because my mouth knows better but that may be why Tom had Keith and his father "defy" Basitin culture by having these unacceptable relationships.
