I'm Commander Natani, and this is my favorite Keith on Basitin Islands.

I rank them as such: 1st game: best story 2nd game: best balance between story and gameplay 3rd game: story suffers somewhat but the gameplay is the most refined and the character moments keep you going throughout the journey. Ending controversy was a little overblown and somewhat rectified by the patch that now describes what happens after you make your final choice. Still could have been better.

Honestly, I also imaginated Natani with Black Widow Sniper Rifle (in game I'm also prefer this weapon) :) Unfortunately, as ill luck would have it, I didn't able to see that stream… But, version with shotgun also nice!

Even without the mind link, Natani still thought of himself as male. When he was in a coma, his younger self confirmed that he was starting to become comfortable presenting as male before the accident. In his most recent conversation he even told Zen he "still thinks of himself as a guy," so yeah, as of now he still identifies as male. He is physically female, yes, so he's essentially transmale, but the world the comic takes place in doesn't really understand what that is yet, so they can't just outright say it. :)

No, She was comfortable being a tom boy basically. Pretending to be a guy so she could do what she wanted. Before the mind shattering, she was a tom boy.. after the mind shattering, she just has a ton of Zens own personal feelings and memories interfering with her own.

I think the Natani head count was effectively up to three, with his physical form, adult mental image, and younger mental image. The armored versions now bring it up to five. Zen was already complaining about feeling outnumbered in his own head, so this should freak him out something fierce.

Re Joshua, Sergal - Did you read literally any of the part where Natani was in/had just gotten out of a coma? I'm sorry to phrase it like that but it's getting harder and harder to be patient about people still calling Natani a woman when he's all but yelled at the fourth wall that he's trans at this point.

I recommend ignoring Joshua there, since he likes to gloss over a lot of Natani's character development to force the narrative that he isn't trans. Natani publicly presents himself as male and has asked people to refer to him that way, so the respectful thing to do if he were a real person would be to just do it. If Natani ends up developing in a different direction later, that's one thing, but he currently identifies as male.

RE: nyahoarder - There are people that claim to be fans of this comic who are trying to subtly encourage gender identity erasure in other fans by undermining Natani's character growth. Joshua Stewart there is the most blatant one, since he likes to pop into other people's conversations to tell them it's okay to disregard someone else's identity. Tom has avoided taking a hard stance on this since he doesn't like drama, but I really wish he would just explicitly say Natani is trans. Hell, half the time he avoids using any pronouns in Natani posts because these people throw such a hissy fit over the SINGLE trans character in mainstream furry webcomics.

Re: Nyahoarder and Volpethrope I'm not anti trans, I fucking dated someone who is for almost 3 years and am still happily friends with them. I did read the same story, But to call Natani trans when they where comfortable looking like a guy before, or took interests in things a guy could only do in a culture still largely separates by gender.. first of all.. tries way to hard to force anyone who doesn't want to be stereo-typically one gender into the other as "Trans" There's also what we call TOM BOYS That you all seem to of forgotten exist. Second, it's a world where the women wolves are clearly not allowed to do the jobs she wanted.. hence why she was being referred to as a guy. Of course she got more use to it because when yoy pretend to be something a lot.. or live the life of one.. you grow to accept it. Third, we've already known that Nat is mentally damaged due to her brothers mind.. a male mind, taking over for large parts of hers due to the spell that was thrown at her. Something that is clearly being repaired and she is coming to grips with with seeing her own femininity again.. So if Tom is writing a trans character, then either they are reverting back to their actual gender.. or he's just really bad about it, Because if you actually read the damn story and put aside your bias for having to check that box, you'd see She's only getting MORE comfortable with her gender, not taking steps to seal it away and swap it out with another. and EVEN ZEN HAS REFERRED TO HER AS A GIRL and thanked her for doing things to help Natani get into her girly side. Which.. i dun know.. seems like something..you'd NOT DO WITH A TRANS PERSON who feels horrible about the gender they're born into and want to change! In short, Cross Dressing does not make you transgender, Acting like the other gender 'typically' does not make you trans, your brother seeing you as a brother? does not make you trans, and pretending to be the other gender so you can escape the restrictions placed upon your gender by a society that is not equal to both? DOES NOT MAKE YOU TRANS Bucking Gender roles? yes, Trans? No. That is all, thank you. Don't call me a transphobe again. Because I romanced one for 3 years of my life.

Guys, can we not do this again? Joshua and Volepthrope, I understand both of your arguments but when it comes to Natani’s gender his character page states male and uses he/him in the description. Now I can’t tell you when that was last updated but it is currently the closest thing we have to an official confirmation and that’s why we continually call him male. There do exist some sketch(es) where Natani is repulsed by the idea of people calling him ‘she’, but I’m not going to use them because it can be argued that they are non-canon. And don’t call people anti-trans if they haven’t explicitly stayed that, it’s rude. Even if they seem to act like it, give them the benefit of the doubt first. So can we please stop arguing now and just enjoy the sketches? It’s getting heated in the comments section again.
