2026-10-08 12:00 I was pretty frightened to see Mary handling her cutlery in a threatening manner. But I was so distracted by this that I barely noticed Rose's bottle of poison. It's a Cluedo-style murder mystery waiting to be written! >_< Here's hoping this doesn't actually happen in the webcomic. Otherwise, all the characters are screwed! =S

Whoever knows the most about everyone wins rights to the first slice of pie. Which I cannot have a piece of, because..." Rose:"B-because it's cherry! And everyone here knows you're allergic to cherries!" Raine:"Um... Actually, I'm not allergic to cherries. I'm allergic to-" Mary: "RASPBERRIES! Which are what's in the pie... Raspberries." Raine: "But I thought you said it was cherry?" Rose: "It is! Cherry AND raspberry. It's... ah... it's a bit of everything really." Mary: "Mincemeat!" Rose: "Yes! A mincemeat pie! Full of.. all kinds of... goodies." Raine: "Okaaaaay. Well here's the first question, I guess. It says... Oh! Um... The question is, 'Euchre is asshole. Why Mary hate?' I, uh... I wonder who wrote that one." Rose: "Ooh! Ooh! I know this one! BECAUSE EUCHRE IS A BASTARD MAN!" Mary: "CORRECT!" Raine: "I think... I'm supposed to say if the question is... correct." Rose: "Of course, dear! You're doing a wonderful job!" Mary: "So proud of you!" Euchre: "My little girl!" Rose: "DON'T YOU TALK TO HER!" Euchre: "Oh! I'm sorry! So I can't speak to-" All three: "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!" Raine: "Uh... Okay. I'm just going to go grab a drink of cider..." All three: "DON'T TOUCH THAT CIDER!" Raine, about to cry: "Um..." Rose: "...It's raspberry."

Yeah, she met Trace again in an earlier chapter. She more or less accepted that things were different and Trace had changed and that everything would be fine if he kept away from her. No idea what happened since then, Raine obviously decided to stay with friends and Mary went elsewhere. Of course, Mary’s relationship with her daughter has always been strained anyway because of who and what her father is, so She kept her at arms length. And now Mary probably preferres to let her daughter live her own life now that she does not have to bother about keeping her secret.

They’re both after Euchre, he’s the biggest threat who has wronged both of them. They’re not very fond of each other, but there’s not really anything personal between them, so they just remain ‘on guard’ around each other.

I know who it was! Euchre faked his own death because it was the only way to get out alive. Honestly, in your typical murder mystery, the other two would be too obvious and therefore they didn’t do it. Only other person it could be would be Raine... and it can’t be because it’s RAINE!

While I'd agree that they aren't fond of each other, I wouldn't think they need to be "on guard" around each other either. After all, it was Mary that freed Rose from potentially being killed for a spy when Euchre refused to admit he knew her.

Yeah, but that was Chapter six. Tom re-wrote Chapter One with the "Reflections" between Chapters 16 and 17, I think Mary would have more to say to Trace now. She certainly wasn't meek when confronting Euchre.

I get the feeling that Mary and Rose get along better than they do with Euchre...can you blame them? He is the "Grand Templar Strategist" after all so he might as well be inherently manipulative.

Mary (Raines Mother) was the former Grand Templar before Trace. Also from the way she is holding that carving knife and looking at Euchre I suspect she has great disdain for him as much as Rose does as lore kinda shows her being disgusted by how he so easily tossed Rose under the wagon.

Looking at this in hindsight, I realize that it serves as a nice prequel to Raine confronting her parents...I can imagine an argument breaking out, and Raine just snaps and lets it all out.
