You look at all the story combined and it paints a pretty dark picture but also it paints Eric in a much better light than we usually give him credit for especially compared to his brother

Think the links between color and non-color are flipped. Or I'm losing it. Eric was born into a family that obviously are horrible racist, then given his father's slave trading business, and probably told that he needed to not screw it up for the good of the family. It's not hard to see why he ended up the way he did, but it is good to see what character growth that we have out of him. I don't think anything bad would have happened from him specificly if she got caught, but I can see having to do SOMETHING really messing with him.

I'm really glad you made some friends. You deserve that. You deserve more than, well... I-I mean... You deserve... more." Kat: "Eric, I-I don't know what to say... Thank you." Eric: "Hey, Kat? Promise me something." Kat: "Y-yeah?" Eric: "From now on... Never thank me just for treating you like a person."

I really hope Tom has secure backups for all these posts, I'd hate to see them lost forever if (when) Patreon goes down permanently from having to pay for all the arbitration against deplatforming people they didn't like politically.

Aww, sweet! (I always like the contrast between Mike and Evals. Mike's a bit more soft-spoken but perceptive, with Evals being brasher, rasher and sillier. Kat's friendship offering definitely works in this regard)

Eric would have took the blame and the punishment, physically inserting himself between them and using his body as a shield if need be (as we've seen him do time and again in both canon and sketches).
