Rusty Fears returns this week! (Patreon)

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!

Today we’re very excited to announce that Rusty Fears, our horror writing competition will be returning this week! As always, the winners of the competition will have their stories recorded and released onto The Magnus Archives podcast feed. This year, we’re providing writers with a series of one sentence prompts. You can use the prompt sentence within your story or just use it as inspiration for your writing – the most important thing is to tell us a truly terrifying story!

As an exclusive preview for paid members, the prompts for this year are:

It wasn’t the words themselves that made me uneasy, but the way they were written on the page.

I’d known about the local legend since I was a child.

I’ll never forget the noise.

I couldn’t help myself and turned to watch as it emerged.

MEMBER EXCLUSIVE PROMPT: That first time, I’d hiked for hours before I stumbled across the anomaly.

If any of these inspire you, keep an eye out later this week, where we’ll be sharing the full competition details and the entry submission form – we cannot wait to read your stories and once again share the work of our talented community.

Finally, in news from the RQ Network, Myth and Moon will be releasing the first episode of their second season later today! Myth and Moon is a high-fantasy solo-play D&D podcast that weaves two storytellers into a single world of conflict, crafting duelling narratives of heroism and villainy. Every decision echoes, every dice roll matters, and character choices shape whose destiny prevails. For fans of tabletop roleplaying games, immersive audio dramas, and classic adventures set in worlds like The Forgotten Realms—fates collide and dice decide in this thrilling exploration of good versus evil. If you haven’t yet checked out this innovative actual play, head to the public The Magnus Archives podcast feed which is currently featuring a feed drop from the beginning of the first season.

Have a good week all!
